Aldred. | Hilltop Herald Our Junior girl's basketball team travelled to Bradford on Feb. 26th, where it came 2nd to Stayner High after a valiant effort. The GBSSA boys' basketball tourney for "B" High Schools was held in Port Perry on Mar. bth. Mr. Neigh's Junior boys tragically met defeat at the hands of Stayner High, but Mr. Firth's Intermediate boys' team defeated Stouffville High and Stayner High in turn to cap- ture the intermediate boys' championhip, with centre Ron Blakely playing superbly in both games. Mr. Burt took his wrestling team to the Georgian Bay Tour- nament at Bracebridge and qualified to enter the Provincial Tournament at Ottawa. Mr, Burt and Mr. McNair took the Boys to Ottawa on Friday morn- ing. They placed second in the "B" Schools and seventeenth out of forty-seven schools from the province of Ontario. Ron Taylor placed third in his weight class, and Aldon Smith and Bill Diamond placed sixth and seventh in their classes, Approximately 40 boys compet- ed in each class.
