March 12th-- In the Port Perry Novice play-offs Cartwright dropped a 32 decision to McKee's, Cartwright went into a 2.0 lead early in the game, and but for some fine goal tending could have been leading by a larger score. ' Werry and Van Camp scored to give Cartwright the lead. McKee's then scored to make it 2-1 and the score stayed that way until the last four minutes of the game. McKee's took advantage of some sloppy play in the Cart- wright end and scored two quick goals to go ahead 3-2. The South District W.I. Executive Meeting By Josephine C. Smith Ontario South District _of the Women's Institute held their spring board meeting in the Township Hall Brooklin on Monday, March 7th, Mrs. M. Annis, District President open- ed the meeting with the Imsti- tue Ode an dMary Sewart Col- lect. Mrs. Wm. Heron, District Secretary - treasurer presented the financial statement, and ead the minutes of the last exe- cutive meeting. Ten out of twelve branches answered the roll call. Mrs. K. Ward who represent- ed the district at the Central Area Cnvention in Toronto in November reported the high- lights and her impressions of the Convention. To some this was a memory refresher but to those of us who had not attend- ed the Convention it held a new interest. Mrs. Sam. Cawker of Honey- dase Branch reported on the Luncheon and meeting of Sub. division 8 at the home of Mrs. Garnet Francey, Gormley, Board Director of this subdivi- sion, At this meeting, business of the Fall meeting of F.W.I1.0. Board was discussed and plans made for district annual meet- ings. Ontario South was given May 2th for their meeting Mrs. Annis thanked Mrs. Ward and Mrs. Cawker for in- teresting informative reports. The remainder of the afternoon was spent in planning a full program for the Ontario South District "annual meeting to be held in Brougham United Church on Thursday, May 26th. The meeting closed with the National Anthem, followed by a social half-hour.
