Couperthwaite offered to help Bethesda-Reach as an assistant leader for the next 4- H- Club Unit. Mrs. Gerald Mero volunteered to act as Representative for Reach Township on the Ux- bridge Hospital Auxiliary. We will be having a telephone euchre in the near future, Reports were heard from His- torical Research & Current Events, Agric. & Can, Ind, Citizenship & Ed. Mrs. Murray Lee introduced guest "speaker, Dr. Braun of Ont. County, Whitby, Health Unit. Dr. Braun gave an out- line of her work and showed in- teresting slides on the different phases of it. Mrs, R. Foster, on behalf of the members, express- ed appreciation to Dr. Braaun for coming and giving of her CARTWRIGHT Hockey News Feb, 21st-- Jackson's Pee Wees trounced Hall's Pee Wees 7 to 3. Jack- son and S. Tomchishin both scored hat tricks. Rick Camp- bell with 1. Feb. 23-- Mountjoy's Pee Wees tied William's Pee Wees 4-4. The goal scorers for Mountjoy's team were Allison, Wolfe, Mar- tyn and McNab, Cartwright Bantams beat Janetville 8 to 5. Leonard Mac- Leod got a hat trick, P. Wright with 2, B., Wolfe with 1, Lee with 1, and G. McLaughlin with 1, Feb. 24th-- Cartwright Pee Wees edged Oakwood 8 to 2 right in the latter's home rink. The Cart- wright boys fought back from a 2 to 0 deficit. Jackson with 2 and Asselstine with 1. Feb. 26th-- Congratulations to the Cart- wright Novice. Playing 4 games in 6 hours the boys brought home the Consolation Trophy. In the first game the score was Cartwright 5, Bowmanville 4. Burns got a hat trick and Randy Prosser with 2. I nthe second game Bobcay- geon walloped Cartwright 8 to 0. Doug Mappin kicked out at least 50 shots. In the third game Cartwright again defeated Bowmanville b to 2. Rod Campbell with 2, Randy Prosser with 2 and Cooke with 1. In the Consolation finals be- tween Cartwright and Lakefield there was no score because of the heavy ice. The Cartwright boys missed on numerous oc- casions. " Thy won the trophy by out- shooting Lakefield 8 to b. Randy Prosser, the team cap- tain accepted the consolation time to bring us such a well worthwhile talk. The meeting closed with "The Queen". A social half hour was enjoyed by all. * ¢ The February monthly meet- ing was held at the home of Mrs, H. Phoenix, Wed. evening, Feb. 16th. The Pres, Mrs. N. Smith open- ed the meeting with short Poem entitled "Courage". The officers' Conference in Guelph, May 3rd, 4th, 6th was brought to our attention. Moved by Mrs. R. Cookman, seconded by Mrs. A. Anderson and carried that we send a De- legate. Feb, 23rd. Moved by Mrs. M. Les, sec | onded by Mrs. H, Phoenix, car- ried that the nominating Com- mittee be Mrs. A, Anderson and Mrs. R. Baird.
