Our Bazaar in the Church Hall will be held on Wednesday evening, December 1st at 8.00 p.m. 4-H CLUB NEWS The sixth meeting of the Kit- chen Maids was held on Wed, Nov. 17th and again on Sat, Nov. 20 for those unable to at- tend on Wednesday. The next meeting is planned for Wed., Dec, 1st when the new Home Economist, Miss Donna Stewart is to visit the club!' A full attendance is requested for that date, At meeting six Mary Nelson and Elizabeth Jefford demon- strated the making of tea bis- cuits. The members also brought salads which they had made at home. Notes were taken on 'Bread and Cereals", "Food Guide for Health" and "How can we use Cereals for Supper?" Mary Nelson was awarded the prize for the most complete notes for lesson three. At the close of the meeting the members all sampled the tea biscuits that they had made and also the salads that were brought. ' Before going home the presi- dent had everyone say the Lord's Prayer in unison. Rev. George Tesky officiated in the double-ring ceremony and the wedding music was played by Mrs. John Beckett. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full length gown of pure white Peau de Soie with bodice featuring a scalloped "V" neckline, long lily point sleeves, lowered front waist line pointed at centre and a full softly pleat- ed skirt which fell to slight train, her headdress was a erys- tal tiara which held her shoul- der length veil. She carried a cascade of talisman roses and white baby mums. The matron of honour was Mrs. Tom Soomre of Port Perry, cousin of the bride. She was attired in a full length sheath of turquoise crepe over taffeta with scoop neckline and empire waist with set in satin band ac- cented in back with two roset- tes. Her headddress was a minature crown of crystal ad- orned with organza leaves the same shade as her dress. She carried a nosegay of yellow and white mums. The best man was Mr. Tom Soomre of Port Perry and the ushers were Mr. Jim Dowson, cousin of the bride, of Scugog Island and Mr. Doug Carter, cousin of the bridegroom, of Richmond hill, Ontario. The re- ception was held in the adjoin- ing church hall where the bride's mother received wearing a dress of beige organza over taffeta with lace bodice, and brown accessories. She wore a corsage of yellow roses. The bridegroom's mother assisted wearing a sheath of blue erepe | adorned with white lace and black velvet ribbon, black ac-' cessories and a corsage ots white roses. The reception was served by the cousins of the bride and groom. For the wedding trip the g Island bride wore a cocoa suit with beige accessories, She wore a corsage of yellow mums to complete her wardrobe. Prior to her marriage the bride was honoured at several showers. Mrs. Tom Soomre, Mrs. Ri- chard Manns, Mrs. Stan Manns and Mrs. Norman Birkett gave a shower for the aunts and friends of the bride. Miss Lois Summers and Miss Marriane Vernon gave a show- er for the girl friends of the bride. Mrs. Lorne Clarke and Miss Donna Tripp, sisters of the bridegroom gave a shower for the neighbours of the bride- groom. Mrs. Joe Dowson and Miss Janet McMaster gave a shower for the former and present members of the Head Memorial Sunday School of which the bride is a member. The head Memorial Sunday School honoured the bride by presenting her with a hammered aluminum tray.
