DONNA MARIE SUTCLIFFE CLAIR RAYMOND BROCKMAN MARRIED IN UTICA UNITED Utica United Church was the setting for the marriage of Donna Marie Sutcliffe, daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Sutcliffe to Mr. Clair Raymond Brockman. The bridegroom's parents are Mr. Raymond Brockman and Mrs. Ronald Button of Oshawa. Reverend James A. Mills of- ficiated in the double-ring cere- mony and Mr. Larry Kendall of Utica sang "Oh Promise Me" and "The Wedding Prayer". Mrs. Richard Steer accompanied him on the organ. Given in mar- riage by her father, the bride wore a long bell-shaped gown of pure silk organza over taffeta. The bodice and hemline were embroidered with scattered lace appliques and seed pearls. The dress had a scoop neck and lily point sleeves. Her detachable train of silk organza over taf- feta cascaed to the floor and her headdress of rose clusters and seed pearl stigmas secured her bouffant, shoulder length tuille veil. She carried a white bible with red roses and two white orchids. The matron of honour was Mrs. Ray Thompson of Colum- bus, Ontario. The other brides- maids were Mrs. Murray Elford of Oshawa, and Mrs. Walter 'Terstall of Brooklin. The flow- er girl was Miss Debbie Button of Oshawa. They were dressed alike in full-length gowns of French Blue Peau de Soie. Their headdresses were cabbage roses made from the same French Blue Peau de Soie. They car- ried cascades of White Mums and Yellow Shasta Daisies. The flower girl carried a basket of White Mums and Yellow Shasta Daisies also. The best man was Mr. Victor Siblock of Oshawa, and tho ushers were Mr. Harold Wood- cock of Oshawa and Mr. James Brockman also of Oshawa. The ring bearer was Master Ryan Sutcliffe of Janetville, Ontario. Mr. Donald Sutcliffe acted as the Master of Ceremonies. The reception was held at Utica Community Hall where the bride's mother received wearing a sheath of Coffee Brown French Lace with beige and brown (coffee) accessories. She wore a corsage of Yellow Roses. The bridegroom's mo- ther assisted wearing a suit of pale blue lace and dark brown rccessories, and a corsage of red roses. For the wedding trip to points east the bride donned a medium green suit with a fur collar and matching brown ac- cessories. She wore a bronze- tone orchid corsage to complete her wardrobe. Out of town guests were pre sent from Toronto, Peterboro, Lakefield, and Brighton. Mr. & Mrs. Brockman will reside at 912 King St., Oshawa, Ontario. PORT PERRY ROD and GUN CLUB NEWS The regular monthly meeting of the Port Perry Rod and Gun Club was held on Thursday, November 4th at the home of Larry & Joanne Huston, Princo Albert. It was nice to see such a good turnout of Seniors at this meet- ing. Tentative plans were made for the Christmas Party to be held on December 9th at the Hustons, but the date is sub- ject to change, we'll keep you posted. We would like to see the Seniors and partners out to this party and of course, the Juniors and their friends. There will be NO SHOOTING on Thursday, 'Nov. 11th, but it will re-commence on Tuesday, November 16th for Pistols and Thursday the 18th for Rifles. That's all for now, hope to see you either at the Range, or at the Christmas Party. Joanne Huston. The Senior Citzens Club is still 'a place of great activity. The meetings are still well at- tended and are held second and fourth Wednesday of every month during most of the year. Last meeting was Wed., Oct. 27. Mrs. Chapman President open- ed with O Canada and Lord's Prayer in Unison. Then busi- ness is discussed with great zest. Many bus trips are plan- ned for everyone's pleasure. Members work hard at so many different projects, its a joy to belong to such an ambitious group of nearly 100 members. After business session and "The Queen" a social time was spent and lunch served by group in charge. Next meeting on Wed., Nov. 10th will be at 2 p.m. at the Hall and draw will be made on Quilt & Wool Rug. Tickets have been on sale most of the summer. Euchres are still very successful and funds go to equip the Hall and to entertain senior citizens, which makes life so pleasant for those not so young. Everyone is made very welcome and all enjoy the com- forts of this Hall. A lot of hard work has been done by the members to make it this way. Next euchre is Saturday, Nov. 13th at usual place. Barthau warmly welcomed members of the Unit- ed Church U.C.W. to a Tea at her home on Cochrane St., Tues. Oct. 26th, 3-5 p.m. The Tea, sponsored by Unit #3, was held to receive mittens or donations for the Bazaar Mitten Tree. Many pairs of mittens, in vari- ous sizes and colours, were displayed at the tea. Mrs. Gwen King poured at the attractively arranged tea table, with Mrs. Gordon Thomas and Mrs. Lloyd Wakeford serv- ing the refreshments.
