10 -- PORT PERRY STAR, Thursday, Nov. 11th, 1965 CELEBRATE 30th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Gibson of Port Perry celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home recently where they received friends and relatives for the occasion. Mrs. Gibson, the former Emily Fallis, was born in North Da- kota, moving to Canada with her parents at an early age and settling at Cadmus. son was born at Cadmus. They were married on Sept. 30th, 1915, and lived at Cadmus until early this spring when they moved to Port Perry. They have two children, Glenn of Hamilton and Mrs. W. Robin- son (Birdie) of Kingston. There are five grandchildren. The tea table was centred with a wedding cake flanked by gold candles and yellow roses. Pre- siding at the tea table were Mrs. FP, Walter, Mrs. N. Philp, Mrs. M. Howsam and Mrs. W. C. Robinson, Grand-daughters and cousins served the guests. Mr. and Mrs. Gibson received congratulatory letters from Prime Minister Lester Pearson, John Diefenbaker, Premier John Robarts, Mr. Starr, Dr, Dymond and from many friends and re- latives who were unable to at- tend. The bride, the former Jean Bright is the only daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Bright and Mr. Barbour is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roderick Barbour of Dalhousie, N.B. The young couple plan to live in Oshawa. Mrs. A. Moon received a message on Wednesday that her brother Mr. Wm. Hadwin, Lindsay, had been seriously hurt in a freak car accident, in which his head and shoulders were caught between the car door and the body of the car. Mr. Hadwin is in hospital with concussion, two broken jaws, a dislocated shoulder and other injuries. On Thursday morning the stork paid a visit to Mr. and Mrs. F. Bolling, who recently moved to the Bruce farm, and left a son. Congratulations. Mr. and Mrs. Eagleson ac- companied Mr. Howard Leask of Uxbridge to Midland on Sat- urday where they visited an old friend Mrs. Wilbert Wilson. As usual Mrs. Blanche Han- vey, Toronto, attended the tur- key dinner and stayed for a few days with Mrs. V. Tait. She has now gone to Little Bri- tain for a visit. On Friday Mr. G. Their son, Be- verley Scott will entertain Gladys and Roy at a family re- union at his home in Oshawa. Mrs. Scott is the former Gladys Harrison of Myrtle. Several of our families at- tended the special services at Greenbank on Sunday, while Mr. and Mrs. McNeil, Mrs. Dow- son and Mrs. King attended the Zion anniversary. This reduced S.S. attendance somewhat--only 73. Neil Wanamaker acted as superintendent and Darlene Watts read the scripture. No one admitted having a birthday last week.
