Uxbridge Office Ontario Hydro's Uxbridge Rural Operating Area will be gradually merged with the Comission's adjacent Rural Op- erating Areas. It is anticipated that the transition will take place over a considerable period of time so that full advantage may be taken of changing circumstan- ces as they occur and to cause the least possible disruption for staff members and customers. In making this annoucnement, Adam S. Smith, the Commis- sion's Central Region Manager, pointed out that this move is in keeping with the pattern gra- dually occurring throughout the Province, which at the end of this year will have resulted in dro's original 105 Rural Operat- ing Areas to a total of some 82 larger and more efficient or- ganizations. This trend is sav- ing millions of dollars. The amalgamation is being carried out so that more effi- cient use may be made of mo- dern Hydro equipment, vehicles and work methods. Today's vastly improved roads and ve- hicles, coupled with modern communication make larger and more efficient Area .organiza- tions very feasible. Mr. Smith said that until fur- ther notification Uxbridge rural customers will continue to re- eeive service in the same man- ner as in the past. WANTED STORAGE SPACE required by local merchant.
