McCausland Ltd. who executed |: the window was persent for the service and provided the Bishop with a brief description of the new stained glass window which Bishop Hunt read to the con- gregation. The subject of the window is "Christ in Majesty" and is shown in three panels. In the upper centre panel is 'shown Christ seated on His Throne wearing the Crown' of Majesty and holding the Orb of} Sovereignty, surrounded by An- gels and Seraphim praising His glory, "Holy, Holy, Holy". In the lower section of the centre panel is shown St. Mich- ael, the Captain of the Heavenly Host, the Conquerpr over Evil, and his attributes are the Lance and the Scales of Justice. In the lower left-hand panel is shown the Angel Gabriel whose name signifies "God is My Strength", and who" is also known as the Annunciation An- gel, and his attributes are the Lillies symbolizing Purity, and the Cross of Faith. In the lower right-hand panel is shown the Angel Raphael, signifying the Medicine of God and the Guardian Angel of Humanity, and who is also the Angel who appeared to the shepherds, "bringing good tid- ings of great joy", and his at- tributes are the Traveller's Staff and Wallet and the vase containing charms against evil spirits. In the base section of the window is shown the inscrip- tion panel containing the mem- orial ,wording which reads as follows: To the Glory of God in Loving Memory of Ethelwyn Hutcheson Hyland and her Husband Harry Howden. Erected by Catharine Hyland 1965. The Text at the base of the subject reads: Power, Be Unto Him That Sitteth Upon The Throne. Mans- field; Hans Kraupa and Kenneth Bateman, Wardens of the Church. / --Staff Photo Mr. Rose, a native of Halifax, N.S. attended Dalhousie Univer- sity and then entered the busi- ness world, having been em- ployed with the actuarial de- partment of "The Maritime Life Assurance Co." of Halifax for four years: During this per- iod he continued his studies in mathematics at Dalhousie. Mr. Rose then entered Wy- cliffe College of the University of Toronto to prepare for the ministry. After ordination he served as assistant curated at St- Matthew's Islington, Toronto and then for three years at St.|. Paul's, Halifax. For tHe last four and one-half years he has been Rector of the neighbour- ing Parish of Manvers. UNIT No. 3 By Mabel Cawker The October meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Har- old Honey with an attendance of 10 members and 2 visitors. The Leader Mrs. Lloyd Wake- ford chaired. the meeting and opened with -Prayer. An inspiring "Thanksgiving" Devotional message was con- ducted by Mrs. Merlin Dowson. A brief summary of the 5th Chapter of the Study Book was dealt with by Mrs. Sam Cawker, During the business period members were reminded of the Regional Presbyterial meeting to be held in Port Perry United Church Oct. 28th, afternoon and evening sessions -- Miss Muriel Stevens, recently returned from the "Congo", will be the guest speaker. The Bazaar date was also brought up -- Nov. 20th, the Theme--""A Day"--A "Promise Tree"--a new venture, will be an interesting feature of the Bazaar this year. Calls reported by members-- 22 in number, and offering a- mounted to $13.00. The Nov. meeting will be held at Mrs. Len. Beadles' home, with Mrs. Harold Honey in charge of the "Worship" period, and Mrs. Merlin Dow- son the "Study Book". Another $10.00 was turned in from sale of furniture left over from Spring Rummage Sale. Total proceeds now amount to approximately $74.00 clear. Members have been working hard during the summer, and over 20 pair of mittens, all sizes and colours, were on dis- play for the Bazaar Mitten Tree. Appreciation was expressed. to Mrs. Honey for use of her home ,and meeting closed with Benediction.
