The Raglan S.0.S. Club Hold First Meeting response was encouraging and many good ideas were submit- ted. ' A letter from Mrs. Auld thanking the S.0.S. Club for the lovely gifts she received at her retirement party was read by the secretary. Mrs. Auld was a teacher at the Raglan Public School for 10 years and principal of the new Raglan Consolidated School since its inception in 1962. On her retirement last June, after 40 years of teaching ,the S.0.S. Club honoured Mrs. Auld with a party and_ptesented her with a 4 piece set of matched lugg- age in avocado green and also placed a painting in the school in her honour. The meeting was adjourned and closed by singing the Queen, Lunch was served and the new members were asked to each bring a cup, saucer and' spoon to the next meeting. UTICA UCW The monthly meeting of the Utica U.C.W. was ha at the home of Mrs. Larry Kendall on September 8th .at 8.30 p.m, There were 10 members and one guest present. The meeting was opened by the president Mrs. R. Thorn- dyke. Mrs. Bruce Miller and Mrs. Bert Mitchell were in charge of the devotional, Mrs. Miller opened the service with a prayer, followed by the read- ing in unison of Psalm 95. Hymn 164 "Faith of our Fa- thers" was sung. Mrs. Miller then read the evening's serip- ture as found in the book of Jeremiah, chapter 31, verses 81 to 34. Mrs. Mitchell then gave an interesting talk based on the evening's scripture. Mrs. Thorndyke chaired the business meeting. All reports were read and approved. Invi- tations from Manchester U.C.W. & Goodwood U.C.W. were read and it is hoped many of our members can attend these events Mrs. Thorndyke thank- ed the members for their sup- port at the bake sale.
