The Ontario County athletes brought home the trophy award- ed to the county obtaining the most points on the day's events, and the trophy for the most points in the track and field section. The tug of war was also won by Ontario County, with the team consisting of: Bill Barlow, R. 2, Blackwater, Neil Raines, R. 2, Blackwater, Bob Robertson, Port Perry, Ralph Honey, R. 2, Seagrave, Neil McLeod, R. 2, Blackwater, Murray Jones, R. 1, Ashburn, Bill Taylor, R. 1, Pefferlaw, John Stone, R. 2, Blackwater. As well, Ontario County plac- ed second in the Square Dance! Competition, following the win- ning set by only several points. The Ontario set consisted of: Ken Parish, R. 1, Sunderland Carle Parliament, Cannington Stan Parish, R. 1, Sunderland Linda Brown, R. 2, Cannington Suzanne Wood, R 1, Cannington Bev. Brown, R. 2, Cannington Lois Workman, R 2, Cannington --all of the Beaverton Junior Farmers' Association. The caller for the Ontario County set was Mr. Ted Gordon, R. 1, Cannington. In baseball, the Ontario County teams again met with considerable success. However, the boys' team was defeated 1-0 in the semi-finals; while the girls' team went on to the final game before being eliminated. Ontario County contestants who placed in their respective events are as follows: Girls' Division: 76 yard dash: 1st Betty Medd R. 1, Port Perry; 2nd Diane Graham, Balsam. V2 package cream cheese (white) 1 bunch watercress (or other halves (buy your favourite greens for garnishing) Dissolve gelatin in one cup of hot water and pour into cake tin (glass or aluminum). Sprinkle % cup of cocoanut into gelatin. Divide tin foil in 4 strips and fold stiff to use as dividers for 9 equal square servings of jelly. Leave jelly in refrigerator until slightly set. Fill 9 peach halves with white cream cheese and place one in each square (flat side down). Hold in place with toothpicks. Cut up the rest of the peaches and add some to each square. Dissolve second box of gelatin in one cup of cold water and pour slowly into mould. - Sprinkle remaining cocoanut over all. Chill thoroughly. Unmould, remove tinfoil dividers carefully. Slice each square with sharp knife. Garnish with water- cress. Serves 9. ; SPECIAL TERMS! The first and second place winners at the Quinte Field Day are eligible to compete in the Provincial Junior Farmer Field Day scheduled to be held on Saturday, August 14, at the University of Guelph. The Quinte Pield Day was run under the direction of Mr. Bob Barlow, R.R. No. 2, Blackwater, assisted by Miss Anne Dryden, R.R. 1, Brooklin. Congratulations are extended to all who competed at Peter- borough, and also to those who were responsible for the order of the day. Other counties represented at the field day were Prince Ed- ward, Northumberland, Victoria Peterborough, Durham, Hast- ings, Lennox and Addington. Alumni Pic- nic to be held in Ontario County on Sunday, July 25, was a suc- cessful event. , It was again held this year at the home of Professor & Mrs. A. W. Baker, Cedarhurst Beach, Beaverton, There were ninety people in at- tendance. The afternoon was spent in swimming, boating and visiting. The highlight of the picnic was a talk by Mr. Dave Adams, President of the 0.A.C. Alumni Association. Mr. Adams out- lined a number of changes that are taking place at the 0.A.C. at the present time, brought about by the incorporation of the Federated Colleges into Guelph University. He con- gratulated the Ontario group on initiating the idea of a picnic, and carrying through with it 90 Attend OAC Alumni Picnic each year, Dr. Margaret McCready, Dean of MacDonald Institute and Dean Richards, Ontario Ag- ricultural College, Guelph, also spoke, outlining changes that are taking place at the Univer- sity' of Guelph at the present time. The picnic concluded with a bountiful lunch at 6.00 p.m. Mr. H. R. Hare, Whitby, Presi- dent of the Ontario County 0.A.C. Alumni Association was master of ceremonies.
