There were 11 members and 2 guests present. The ladies were especially pleased to extend a welcome to Mrs. David McKin- ley, the new minister's wife. The meeting was opened by the president Mrs. Robert Thorndyke. Mrs. Tom Suther- land and Mrs. Robert Suther- land had charge of the devo- tional period. Mrs. Tom Suther- led the group in prayer followed by the reading of a Psalm in unison. Hymn #16 "For the Beauty of the Earth" was sung. Mrs. Robert Sutherland read the scripture for the evening, as found in the gospel according to St. John, Chapter 1, verses 1 to 4 and verses 14 to 18. Tabled business and new was gone through; cards of thanks read and the minutes of last meet- ing approved. Mrs. McKinley thanked the ladies for their help at the manse. Quite a few items for the coming bazaar were brought in and Mrs. Thorndyke urged the ladies to keep up the good work. At the close of the business meeting, Mrs. Thomas Suther- land continued the study "The Christian in Church and Com- munity. This study was in the form of an incident followed by questions. Once again the pro- grame was well received and the discussions. The meeting closed with the benediction, followed by a de- lightful lunch supplied by Mrs. Bert Mitchell and Mrs. Mervin Storie.
