The purpose of this centennial project is to beautify the countryside of Ontario County by encouraging the repair and painting of farm homes and buildings, by generally tidying up, and im- provement of fences, farm en- trances, roadways and yards, so that the farm area of Ont- ario County will be more at- tractive for the Centennial year of 1967. The project is being carried out in Ontario County under the sponsorship of the Federa- tion of Agriculture in co-opera- tion with the Ontario County Council. The County will be divided into six areas for the purpose of judging and awarding the prize money. These areas will be as follows: Area No. 1--Pickering Twp. Area No. 2--Whitby and East Whitby Townships - Area No. 3--Reach and Scugog Townships Area No. 4--Uxbridge and Scott Townships Area No. 5--Brock and Thorah Townships Area No. 6--Rama and Mara Townships There is a total of $2,400.00 in prize money. $400.00 has been assigned to each of these sixe areas noted above. Prize money in each area is being allotted as -- 1st prize $50.00; second prize $40.00; third prize $30.00; and fourth to seventh prizes $20.00 each. The figures for the southern part of the county were not yet available. It is expected that the survey for the north part of the county will be conducted next April.
