Diamond, Mrs. Dusty, Mrs. Clements. The April Meeting of the Greenbank W.I. was held at the home of Mrs. A. McMillan. The Pres. Mrs. N. Smith, welcomed visitors and mem- bers, also thanked hostess for use of her home. A farm safety project was discussed and it was decided to hold it over for further dis- | cussion at the next meeting. Each Branch is to have a Centennial project. As this was our Annual Meeting too, reports were given from Agr. & Can. Ind., Citizen- ship & Ed., Historical Research = Current Events, Home Ec. & Health, Resolutions, and Public Relations. Some of the highlights of the year were: (1) successful telephone eu- chre, (2) monthly W.I. groups put weekly news in the Ux- bridge Times-Journal, (3) Craft Display at District Annual at Greenbank, (4) hall piano re- paired, (5) Display at Port Perry Fair, (6) Guest Speakers spoke on (i) Social Problems of the aged, (ii) Immigration to Carada, (ii) Budgeting & needs of our local hospital, (iv) talk on importance of T.B. work, (v) Trip out "West", (vi) Short Course on "Focus on Finishes". Mrs. Smith welcomed Mrs. S. Cawker, Port Perry, Pres. of South Ont. Mrs, Cawker brought greet- ings and best wishes firom the District. At our District An- nual May 20th, at Kinsale we are to have b articles for a Dis- play, and if we wished to sell any, have price on it. Mrs. Cawker Advised us to take a good look at our organization. Growth begins in the Branch, then Prov. National, Interna- tional. She also advised us that Ethel Chapman's article, "Gracious Club Woman" in one of our Farm papers was well worth reading. Each Inst. find out what is most important to its Branch e.g. Agric. in Country. We must make use of our talents. Be a friendly, enthusiastic member, know our Hand Book, print plenty of programmes. Poem -- "Easter Bonnet" by Mrs. Couperthwaite. Mrs. Mero -- piano selection "Bird Medleys". Sing Song led by Mrs. Mero was enjoyed by everyone. Meeting closed with singing of "The Queen". Social half- hour followed. There is a lot of activity go- ing on at the Hall lately. Many of the members are busy mak- ing alterations, and will finally enjoy the convenience of a kit- chenette. There will be more room in the Hall for Euchres, ete. Shuffle board is enjoyed there by many, also groups en- joy bridge and other games. . The usual meeting on Wed- nesday, May 26th was well at- tended. Mrs, Chapman, Presi- dent is visting her two brothers out west, and Mrs. Cullen occu- pied the chair. Meeting opened with Citizen's Prayer, O Can- ada and repeating of the Lord's Prayer. Tickets are now on sale for a lovely afghan and can be procured from Club members. Soon there "will be a lovely quilt on display, quilted by the members. Interesting business was discussed, and the usual pleasant time spent by all, and dainty lunch served. Don't forget next euchre on Saturday at the Hall, June 12, at 830 p.m. Some still have the idea these euchres are just! for members. Please note these euchres are for everyone from Senior Citizens Club anywhere. Good prizes and lots of lunch on hand to be served. Prize winners as follows at euchre held at Hall May 29th, Ladies first, Mrs. E. Webster, score 74; three ladies tied for second, Mrs. L, Wilson, Mrs. O. Ellerby, Mrs. Morphy, scores 72.
