He passed away sud- denly at his home in Hamilton on May 22nd. Mrs. Durham had attended our bazaar on the 12th. IPor several years they haa been active members of our church ard community. Mrs. E. Conlin, Mrs. B. Web- ster, Mrs. KE. Holtby and Mrs. Geo. Smith accompanied Mr, & Mrs. Les Smith to Hamilton on Tuesday 25th to attend the funeral service at J. B. Mailatt Funeral Chapel. Interment was in the beautiful White Chapel, Memorial Gardens. Rev. Dr. E. Hunter of Toronto officiated. Afterwards, the friends met at the daughter's home, Mr. and Mrs. Maas (Edith Durham), Beatrice and Douglas. The U.C.W. held their an- nual June dinner meeting at the Nightingale Restaurant, with ful' attendance. After enjoying a sumptuous dinner, we identi- fied our "Mystery Sisters". Several humorous contests pro- vided relaxing entertainment. There was a short business ses- sion, no regular meetings until September, Everyone enjoyed the hospitality of our host and hostess. There were courtesy remarks, concluding with a mes- sage from Mrs. Gilbert. The Boy Scout and Cub Par- ade will be held at Manchester Church on June 6th, 10.15 a.m. They will be piped in by Miss Resemary Nodwell of Seagrave. Mrs. Sandison will conduct the Cub Choir. The Scouts will be taking part in the service. The guest speaker will be Akela Catherine Martyn of Prince Al- best. This special service has an interesting programme. Ron McCaw of Wilfrid was the speaker here. Next Sunday morning the Christian Education groups will take part in the Ceremony of Dedication to Missions. @n Wednesday of last week thirty-five of our local ladies tcok the day off and enjoyed a bus trip sponsored by the W.I. This trip included a conducted tour of Malton Airport and brief visits to Yorkdale and Cedar Brae Shopping Centres. During the noon hour they were graciously entertained by Mrs. Graham in her apartment at the corner of Avenue Rd, and Bloor St. Mrs. Graham is a part-time resident of this area and is a very interested and active member of the W.I. Men are busy digging a well on Miss C. Reycraft's property. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Tait and children of Blackstock visited Mrs. Evelyn Tait on Saturday.
