Harper became the bride of Mr, Roy Raymond Leach, son of Mrs. Lillian Leach and the late George Leach of Manchester. Reverend Father Marynen of- ficiated at the double ring cere- mony. Mr. Ray Trudel, as so- loist sang 'Panis Angelicus" during the ceremony and "Ave Marie" at the signing of the register. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, looked radiant in a white floor length gown of sheer organza lined with crystal, featuring high neckline, continental skirt em- broidered with swedish lace, and pointed sleeves also in swedish lace. A crystal headpiece held her shoulder length elusion veil. She carried a cascade boquet of red sweetheart roses and ste- sphanotis. The bride was attended by Mrs Henry Janssen as Matron of honour, Mrs Douglas Wells & Miss Esther Clark as brides- maids. The bridal attendants were similarly attired in street length gowns of pink silk bro- cade with detachable trains. They wore matching pill box headdresses with veiling and carried cascades of pink and white carnations. Mr. Albert Leach twin bro- ther of the groom acted as best man. Mr. Russell Leach and Mit. Henry Janssen were ushers. Following the ceremony a re- ception was held in the Imma- culate Conception Church hall in Port Perry. The bride's mother wore a sheath dress of pink lace with matching jacket and accessories and corsage of pink & white rosebuds, The bridegroom's mother chose a sky blue two picce suit with white accessories and cor- sage of red and white rosebuds, For their wedding trip to Nia- gara Fals and The Thousand Islands, the bride donned a pink arie Harper, Roy Raymond Leach Wed In Sacred Heart Church & beige check wool boucle suit with matching flowered hat and black patent accessories. Her corsage was an orchid, The highlight of the day for Joanne, was a telephone call from H.M.C.S. Bonaventure, from her only brother John who was unable to take leave from his naval duties, wishing her every happiness. : * * * Prior to her wedding the bride was honoured at the fol- lowing showers: Mrs. A. J. Coates was hostess at her home in Islington for a number of friends & relatives at a miscellaneous shower. Mns. Henry Janssen and Mrs. Douglas Wells entertained at the former's home in Scarbor- ough at a miscellaneous show- er. Mrs. Mary Sweetman was hostess at her home for a mis- cellareous shower and also a presentation from the members of the bride's bowling team of a lovely hamper and waste bas- ket to match. The Catholic Women's League entertained a number of friends and league members at a mis- cellaneous shower in the church hall. A kitchen shower was held at the home of Mrs. Lillian Leach of Manchester with Mrs. Geor- gina Listro, Mrs. Allison Leach and Miss Jill Shepherd as hos- tesses.
