pw Over 100 Mothers And Daughters Enjoy Guides Pot Luck Supper By Alma Reesor The annual Pot Luck Suppers were started off by the 8rd Port Perry Guide Company and the 3rd Brownie Pack holding the first one in the spacious banquet room of the Scout Hall. Over one hundred mothers and daughters attended this event. Captain Mrs. Jack Notting- ham acted as Mistress of Cere- monies and introduced the head table guests, the Reverend Mr. Alec Rice, B.A.; Assistant Scoutmaster Charles H. Reesor, Mrs. Charles H. Reesor; Mrs. Ellsworth Kennedy, president of the Girl Guide and Brownie Mothers' Auxiliary; Guide Kar- en Kennedy; Cadet Diane Hall; Brown Owl Mrs. Barry Howey; and Packie Barbara Webster. The Banquet tables were la- den with well-assorted goodies and a large specially decorated "Brownie" cake, inscribed with the words "Lend a Hand", do- nated by Mrs. Malinowski, graced the head table. After the Grace was pronounced by Mr, Reesor, everyone joined in the enjoyment of good food and fellowship. The toast to the Mothers was graciously given by Company Leader June Murray and res- ponded to by Mrs. John Bal- lard, who in her few well-cho- sen remarks included laurels to the Leaders and helpers who have worked so hard to make the Girl Guide Movement in Port Perry such a wonderful and enthusiastic success. Mrs. Ellsworth Kennedy brought greetings from the Girl Guide and Brownie Mothers' Auxiliary and expressed her pleasure in the outstanding way the Guide Leaders carried out the work in this community. . The main highlight of the evening was the awards pre- sented the different girls for achievements acquired.
