Mr. and Mrs, Barry Bushell i Linda and Lori were supper guests on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Keith Ashton. Mr. and Mrs. Len Beach and son of Orillia were with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Dave Prentice for the week-end. We welcome Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Powell home from spending the winter in Mexico. We were sorry to learn that Mrs. Powell had slipped and hurt her back. One of the first things Mr. and Mrs. Powell did upon their re- turn was to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Graham Scott of Toronto to see their newest grandson. We wish Mr. and Mrs. Ar- thur Powell and Wee Jimmy "much happiness in their new home in Whitby. Several young people spent an enjoyable evening last Fri- day at the Manse, the guests of Misses Marie & Sharon Ander- son. There was a large attendance at the cuchre and dance on Fri- day evening. Officer bi {¢ training classes already started to prepare us for the annual cadet inspection. The Open House will be held Tuesday night, May 11. Every- one is welcome and it is hoped that everyone will enjoy the events of the evening. The interschool track and field meet will be held Wednesday May 12 at Sutton District High School. Hospital The Board of the Community Memorial Hospital, Port Perry, held their annual meeting at the hospital on Tuesday even- ing, April 20th, 1965. The statistics for the first three months of 1965 show 96% occupancy in the general ward; this appears to be a continuing trend in our hospital situation. Due to overcrowded -condi- tions in many areas of the hos- pital, a survey was made by Members of the Ontario Hos- pital Services Commission sev- eral months ago. The report of this survey had just recently been received, so that it was the object of much discussion at this meeting. The report recommended that Meeting in view of the type of building of our present hospital that it was not feasible to contemplate renovation or expansion. It was the opinion of the Hospital Board that a request should be made to the Ontario Hospital Services Commission to initiate a building project for a new hoepital, . and consequently a letter of application has been forwarded to tha Ontario Hos- pital Services Commission,
