Dr. Dymond paid tribute to Port Perry's own Cancer Soc- jety and stated that the first Cancer Dressing Station in the Province of Ontario had started in an upstairs room in the Post Office here. He called upon Mrs. Mabel Cawker, President of the Women's Institutes for Sou- thern Ontario to say a few words to the meeting. Mrs. Caw- ker's estimate of dressings made so far this year is around 2,500. Mrs. Cawker is also Campaign Chairman for Port Perry Branch of the Cancer Society. In reply to a question as to where the funds go from the Cancer Campaigh, Mr. Beale stated that 60c. of every dollar goes for research; 15c. for edu- cation -- film libraries, speakers and pamphlets, etc--and the other 30 is applied to services; overhead; administration and many other expenses.
