Mrs. H. Walker Honoured By Utica \U. C. W. Mrs. H. Walker was honoured by a presentation of Corning- ware recently in the Church Parlours at the last regular meeting of the Utica Auxiliary March 11th, 1966 Dear Mrs. Walker: It's sorry we are that you're leaving our midst. And we want you to know how much you'll be missed, Our "W.A." without you, just won't be the same-- S8cmehow we 'oldsters' can't get used to its new name. Through the years that have gone, every office you've held-- Pianist, Secretary, Treasurer, President and friend. You've led ys in song and in a word of prayer, And made each meeting, meaningful, because you were there. As a hostess sublime you couldn't be beat, When at the door each visitor you would graciously meet. Many a time in disagreements, be they ever so small, You've poured the oil of tolerance and brought peace to us all. When we've asked for a cake, some tarts, or a pie, From your larder, you've brought a delicious supply. At the supper we've served tq hundreds or more, Gallons of gravy, with nary a lump, was always your chore. When our church needed painting, papering, scrubbing or such, Without "Mrs. Walker" we wouldn't do much, You've joined in our fun, and laughed at our jokes, You've always been one of us ordinary folks, A welcome mat we've always found out at your door, We still hope to use it many times more. Your guidance and kindness we know we can never repay, But the precept and example you've set us will with us stay. Though in Brooklin this spring your new home will be, Dont be surprised to see us drop in for a cup of tea. This culinary set, with our best wishes to you, Is a gift from us all to a friend tried and true. Signed on behalf og Utica U.C.W. INVEST NOW 92% VICTORIA and GREY TRUST Guaranteed Investments.
