Carl who has been head of the Latin department of Peterborough schools for some time, has been appointed Inspector of Latin for Eastern Ontario, with head- quarters in Kingston. There is no accounting for tastes but Carl apparently knows his latin and enjoys it so much he teach- es it to H.S. teachers in sum- mer school at Kingston, There is hardly a shortage of ambition in this family. His wife Pat, a former teacher, is taking her M.A. by travelling to Toronto three days a week, just as a sideline to her home duties. Congratulations also to Mo. and Mrs. Rae Abraham on the birth of daughter Number 2, on Saturday. The new baby has three brothers also. On Monday the Bruce fami- lies received news of the very sudden death of Mr. A.D. Clark, Swansea, father of Mrs. Ivan Bruce. Mr. and Mrs. A. Bruce] and Mr. and Mrs, M. Bruce went to Toronto Tuesday even- ing to pay their respects. The funeral was on Thursday. + Mrs. Dal Clark (Helen Bruce) underwent surgery on Wednes- day morning to correct an eye ailment and is doing nicely at last report. Small daughter Diane is still with her grand- parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Bruce. Rumour has now become fact, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Reynolds are on the move, having sold Oshawa, who takes possession the middle of April. Ralph and Velma have not yet decided where they will locate. Their auction sale of farm stock and implements will take place May 22nd, then Ralph expects to work with Lake Scugog Lumber Co. On Sat., Feb, 27th Mrs. Chas. Short attended a C.G.I.T. re- union banquet in Brooklin Church, where about 100 girls, ed a happy evening.
