Hill Twenty-four ladies gathered in the Community Hall Wed- nesday evening for the March meeting of the Women's Insti- tute. After the customary opening the business was dealt with. Roll call--"Wear Some- thing Green". Most of the ladies displayed something green, The Sweet Adelines expect to be able to come and entertain at the bazaar May 28th. The April annual meeting will be in the form of a Pot Luck dinner at 12.80. On behalf of the Rotary Club of Bowmanville Mr. Wm. Thies- burger of Tyrone showed a film entitled "Time out for Fun" showing some of the work be- ing done for Crippled Children. Mrs. Ralph Larmer expressed the thanks of the gathering to Mr. Theisburger. Mrs, Mervyn Graliam gaye the Current Events. Two readings were given by Mrs. Wilbert Archer "An ac- count -of the W.I. meeting in Blackstock ,impersonating the 5Oth Anniversary at Stoney Creek", also "Two Monkeys". Meeting closed with "The Queen", after which the citizen- ship group served lunch. The Messengers and Ex- plorers met together Tuesday after school and saw a Film on Trinidad, after which they went ~to-their--own-rooms.--- The -Ex- plorers had a devotional period in which Eleanor Wright -and Graham Duff assisted. Nancy Dorrell conducted a question- aire on the Film and their for- mer studies of Trinidad. Chief Explorer Bob Swain closed the n;eeting with the Explorer clos- ing exercises. 10 children and 2 leaders attended. Nineteen Messengers and the tvio Leaders attended. The Messenger hymn was sung and Prayer repeated. Elizabeth Thompson told the Bible story. Two games were played. Fourteen persons from this area went to Toronto on a chartered bus Monday evening and saw "One Hundred and Ten in the Shade" at the O'Keefe Centre. Evidently that snow storm the week before last chased a few more people from this area. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Marlow and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Van Camp left Friday on a motor trip and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith left Saturday morning by bus for Florida, The wea- ther has been mild and lovely for a week now. i A good number of ladies from here attended the World Day of Prayer Service in Cad- mus Friday and heard an ex- cellent address by Mrs. Ash- more on "What Doth the Lord Require of Thee". Msds. Roy Prayre, Jim Tallis and Jim Gray sang "He's got the Whole World in His Hand". Mrs. Norman Rohrer president of Cadmus U.C.W. presjded, Mrs, Ken Gray was organist and ladies from all the churches led parts of the service.
