On February 11th, 1965 the third annual meeting of Osha- wa Presbyterial United Church Wémen was held at Simcoe Street United Church, Oshawa, with the theme "The Whole Armour of God". Miss M. A. Luke, presbyterial president presided over the af- ternoon and evening sessions. Mrs. Robert Sheffield of the loca} group spoke words of 3 Mrs. John Killeen an Mrs. Donald McArthur St. Pauls, Bowmanville ci ucted the worship service the Memoriam for the de- ceed members. Mrs. L. F. Richardson, pre- sicent of Bay of Quinte confer- ence conveyed greetings and an inspirational challenge to the Women of the Church to be a great force for the Christian Church to develop God's will, She stressed the high ideals of Christ must enter all the work of tRe church and by giving of ourselves, our abilities and tal- ents to be good stewards. Ap- preciation was expressed for this worthwhile address to Mrs. Richardson by Miss M. A. Luke, A panel entitled "It Works" was presented with Miss Beat- rice McLean, Greenwood, being ent communities and spoke on moderator on the success of the PORT PERRY STAR, Thursday, March 11th -- 15 New Sunday School Curriculum which has been in effect for over five months. Those as- sisting were 'Mrs. Geoffrey An- drews; Mrs. Herbert Chese- brough; Mrs, Edgar James; Mrs, Philip Romeril; Mrs. Mil- tor Pegg; Mrs, Carl Billings. These ladies were from differ- the phases of the work in the Sunday School with successful enthusiasm among young folk and those teaching. A plan whereby all were taking more interest. Mrs. Reader, thanked the panel for this most inlight- ening discussion. 'Mrs. M. Chapman, recording secretary, presented the Story of the Year which showed pro- gress. Mrs, C. C. Pirie, treas- urer gave the treasurer's report and Mrs, M, E, Leask presented the budget report and it was recommended that $30,898.00 be our accepted allocation. Mrs, James Scott, reviewed the books on the literature table to further our reading. An expression of thanks and appreciation was rendered Mrs. M, Chapman, retiring secretary for her time and efforts and the work she had done so willingly and the extra year she had giv- en to help the new organiza- tion. Mrs. Wm. Allin, R.R. 2, Newcastle, is the new record- ing secretary. Rev. T. Alex Norman, Ajax, chairman Oshawa presbytery spoke on 'Living Christians" and installed the officers. A delicious dinner at 5.30 pm. was served by the local group. Rev. John Moffatt ex. pressed words of welcome from the church board, The evening session worship was conducted by 'St. Marks, Whitby, with the challenge "Be God's Woman and no one will stop you." Mrs. Douglas Redpath, intro- duced the speaker Dr. Floyd Honey, Board of World Mis- sions who so recently attended the World Council of Churches in Africa.
