The World Day of Prayer wil} be held in the School room of the Church on Friday after- moon at 2:30 o'clock with Sea- grave ladies as guests. Mrs. M. Rp will be the speaker and ladies of the community are cordially invited to attend. That big storm about which we had so much advance notice finglly caught up with us and it sure was a dandy. However we weren't so hard hit as some areas, except for being bogged down with snow we didn't suf- fer too much inconvenience. The school buses couldn't make it pn Friday but the bread trucks, the dairy truck and the wall all came through hut we had No power failures nor tele- troubles. At the Lindsay Presbytery meeting held in Woodville last Friday, final approval was given to the formation of a three-point charge consisting of Seagrave, Pinedale and Greenbank con- gregations to become effective on July 1st of this year. So, dear Seagrave correspondent this scribe is quite happy, her blood pressure has returned to nor- mal and everything is coming up roses. Incidentally it is nice to know that at least one person reads the gibble-gabble seat in from this corner of the earth. At the evening session of the Presbytery, Mr. Edwin McCaig was accepted as a candidate for the Ministry. The best wishes of the community go with this young man in his chosen work. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Howsam, Greenbank News and Mr. and Mrs. Keith- Heron accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Mur- ray Lee to Oshawa on Saturday evening where they attended a Dance sponsored by the Can- adian Diabetic Association. Mrs. Heron was a lucky draw winner and Mrs. Howsam was the win- ner of the main prize, a camera outfit. Mr. and Mrs. Armour -McMil- lan visited Mr. and Mrs. Harold Acton of Whitby on Sunday. Rev. Stanley and Mrs. McMil- lan of Hamilton were guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. McMillan one day last week. My. and Mrs. Murray Lee, Gary and Brian travelled to Woodbridge last Tuesday even- ing where Gary's Port Perry All-Star Hockey Team played the second game of the best of three. Thirteen C.G.IT. girls and three leaders from our Church atten- ded the 50th Anniversary Ban- quet held in Cambridge Street United Church last Saturday evening. Three hundred girls from various Churches in the Lindsay Presbytery were present and the guest speaker Mrs. Marquis, Chairlady of Christian Education. The Euchre Party scheduled for last Friday night was called off owing to bad weather and road conditions but the Dance was held on Saturday night with a fair crowd in attendance. At the W.I. Meeting held last Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Robt. Baird it was decided to serve hot dogs and coffee at Elwood Clement's sale on Saturday of this week.
