Sparks returned home on Sunday after spend- ing six weeks with her son and family in Carlsbad, New Mexi- co. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Purdy, of Toronto were Saturday vi- sitors with Mr. and Mrs. Doug- las Ashton, Mrs. Clyde Playfair, of Tor- onto visited her parents Mr. and Mrs. Russell Richardson on Saturday. Mrs. Walter Rogers, of Brooklin spent Wednesday with Mr, and Mrs. Nelson Ashton. Congratulations to Miss Ju- dith Batten on passing her Grade I Theory with Honours. Owing to icy roads conditions the monthly meeting of the Ladies' Bible Class was post- poned from Feb. 10th to Wed. evening Feb, 17th at the home of Mrs. Russell Batten. The meeting opened with the singing of Hymn 419 "My faith loks up to Thee". The scripture lesson was read by Mrs. Theo Knight and the pre- sident Mrs. D. Ashton chose for her meditation "A Stayed Mind", followed with prayer by Mrs. W. Routley. The minutes were read, also letters of thanks from Mrs. Gordon. MecDonald; Mrs. G. Middleton and Mr. Gordon Stuttaford. * Each of the five members of the executive gave a short talk of the work carried on by the Ladies' Bible Class. Mrs. Edgar Heron and Miss piano duet. A number of short poems were given by several of the members, Mrs; Wm. Gardner conducted a Bible contest. The meeting closed with the singing of Hymn 495 "Pass me not O gentle Saviour", and prayer by Mrs. Grant Parrott. 4H Homemaking Club Meeting The seventh meeting of the Port Perry Fashion Teens was held Wed., Feb. 17 at 7.00. The meeting opened with the 4-H pledge and roll call. Ten mem- bers present, Business: I. Decided that our next meet- ing would be March 24 to give time to finish blouses and record books. 2. Decided to have the mothers at the next meeting. 3. Esther MacDonald, Susan Gray and Karen Kennedy volunteered to do poster for Achievement Day. Group Worl Worked "on blouses.
