' y . vols LEP AS of at, LE 2 END Sd A Cheryl Diane Davey Wed To Francis Roy Tobin In Port Perry St. John's Presbyterjan Church Port Perry, was the scene of a very pretty winter wedding on January 30, when Cheryl Diane, ~ daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Harlin James Davey was united in mar- riage to Francis Roy Tobin, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Tobin of Seagrave. The Rev. H. M. Buntain offi- ciated and Mr. Ken Hallett of Sonya sang, "The Lord's Prayer, end during the signing of the re- gister, "To Thee My Beloved." Mrs. V. P. Stouffer played the wedding music. The Bride glven in marrlage by her father, looked lovely in a floor length gown of Scotch- guard Peau De Soie, chantilly Jace trim, encrusted with seed pearls, featuring a bustle back with a self bow. Her crystal cor- onet headdress held a finger tip veil of tulle illusion. She car- ried a cascade of red roses and hyacinth florets with trailing ivy. Miss Susan Adderley was maid of honour and the bridesmaids were Miss Maureen Tobin, sister of the groom and Mrs.- Robert Slack. They wore identical floor length gowns of harris straw- berry Peau De Soie, featuring an embroidered cumberbund and floor length drape at back. They wore elbow length white gloves and carried cascades of white mums. Their headdresses were Greenbank News The regular meeting of the Af- ternoon group of the U.C.W. of Greenbank United Church was held Wed., Feb. 3 at the home of Mrs, H. Phoenix with 18 mem- bers present. Mrs. E. Till gave the call to worship followed by prayer. We read selection 693 of the hymnary responsively., Mrs Baylis read the scripture John 1: 1-14. Mrs. Till gave a short talk on the Divinity 'of Jesus Christ. Mrs, Baylis led in prayer. The offering was received and dedicated. Mrs. Phoenix gave us an in- teresting talk on Brazil, our study book for this year. Mrs. Till thanked Mrs. Phoe- nix for her help and opening her home. Mrs. Phoenix then presided for the business portion of our meeting opening by reading a poem, She first welcomed all. The minutes were read and adopted. The treasurer reported a bal- emce of $206.90. " Mrs. G. B. Domell of Victor Girls Home will be our guest gpeaker for the thank offering April 25th. Mus. Leask and Mrs. Anderson gave us very interesting reports on the rally which was held in Cannington Jan. 20th. We were reminded of the con- ference to be held in Lindsay on March 23 and 24th. We sang Hymn 330. Mrs, Harris pronounced the benediction to close. Mrs. Till held a contest--jumbled books of the Bible. The group in charge then ser- ved a lunch and a social hour was spent, of rayon velvet petals of harris strawberry centred with a pearl star, featuring self veils of tulle illusion, : Each of the bridesmalds wore crystal necklaces, gifts of the bride, which complimented their gowns. Mr. Dennis Tobin of Oshawa was best man for his brother, and Mr. James Fishley and Mr. Robert Slack were ush- ers. The gentlemen were all 'at- tired in tuxedos. A reception followed in the church parlors. Receiving, the bride's mother wore a two-piece dress of larkspur blue crepe, fea- turing a beaded bodice of Mother of Pearl, matching blue hat, and black accessories. Her corsage was pink roses. The bridegroom's mother assisted and chose a two- piece wool suit of antique gold with mink trim, brown hat and accessories. yellow roses. . Mr. & Mrs. Tobin are residing at 94 Ella St, Port Perry, Guests were present from Port Perry, Green- bank, Seagrave, Port Credit, Tor- onto, Downsview, Bolton, Can- nington, Uxbridge and Oshawa. Following the rehearsal on Friday evening, January 29th, the guests were entertained at the home of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Tobin, of Sea- grave.
