Three of our young folk were with their parents for the week- end, Miss Mildred Martyn stu- dent nurse, Toronto with Mr. and Mrs. A. Martyn. Mr. Bruce Martyn, university student, of Waterloo with Mr. and Mrs. E. Martyn. Mr. Sam Rice, univer- sity student, of Toronto at the manse with Rev. and Mrs. A. Rice. Miss Pacey on the staff of Area School #1 spent the week end with her parents at Ban- croft, Ont. Better health is wihed to Mrs. R. Butson who has been ill, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Rodd, of Blackstock visited at the N. Wilson home. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ashton and sons, of Ashburn, visited their friends, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gibson were entertained at the home of their son, Mr. and Mrs. Ron' Gibson, Port Perry, honouring the father, Frank's birthday. Mr. Pearce, Toronto is spend- ing a holiday with Mr. and Mrs. F. Pearce. We are glad to learn Mr. N. Wilson is much better' after his The Port Perry Novice All- Star hockey team are playing in a newly formed league this year which is made up of teams from Oshawa, Pickering, West Rouge, Uxbridge, Cannigten, Brooklin and Ajax. The Port Perry team have met Pickering, Ajax and Brook- lin and defeated them by some very convincing scores, . Last Friday evening they met Oshawa in what was from the fans point of view a, very ex- citing game. Oshawa came on the ice to score a goal in each of the first two periods. Going into the 3rd period Port Perry was trailing 2-0. After 5 min- utes rest the Port Perry boys came out to score 3 unanswered goals to go on and win the game 3-2. Ricky Evans scored the 1st Port goal on a break away, the second goal was by Murray Carnaghan from Ken ightingale and the 3rd goal by rent Heard from Jamie IcNab. These 9 and 10 year olds are playing good hockey under the coachihg of Muray Lee & their manager Ross Sweetman. They play at home on Friday nights from 7.30 - 8.30.
