There was a good turnout at the Euchre and Dance in Epsom School on Friday evening. The winners at Euchre were: Ladies 1st--Mrs, Ivy Madill. 2nd---Mus, Ruby Rogers. Low--Mrs. Elsie Gatchell. Gents: 1st-- Mr. O. Lane. 2nd--Mr. M. Carl. Low-- Mr. W. Goslin. There will be another Euchre Party in two week's time. Mrs. M. Bailey visited her mother, Mrs. Wm. Jeffery, of Prince Albert on the occassion of her 86th birthday. Mr. and Mrs. John Millman were in London on Saturday. 'Mr. Donald Asling attended the United Church Men's Sup- per Meeting in Uxbridge. Miss Deanne Card and Mr. Eric Benns were supper guests on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kendry. There will be a Valentine Supper in the Church on Feb. 12th, at 7 p.m. Following this there will be a Variety Pro- gramme with the young people participating, Mrs. R. Rodd will recite. Mr. and Mrs, Chris. Jagger of Port Perry will be celebrating their 44th wedding Anniversary one day this week with a fam- ily party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mrs. Chris Ruhl. Many happy returns to Mr, and Mrs. Jagger our very good freinds and former neighborus. Several ladies attended the York Presbytery U.C.W. An- nual - Meeting in Newmarket on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Asling had supper on Sunday with Mr. and" Mrs. Jas. Clarke. We are pleased to report that Mr. Robt. Taylor who has been in Port Perry Hospital for some time is improving. Our sympathy to the Gerrow family in the loss of their brother Grant and also to his wife Pearl and daughter Kent. Grant drove the school bus so many pupils will miss this kind and warm-hearted friend. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Edwards were in Toronto on Monday where Mr. Edwards conducted the funeral service for avery dear friend from Chapleau. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Pren- tice and Murray visited with Mr." and Mrs. Mervin MacCon- nell of Whitby one evening. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Munro vis- ited with her friends, Mr. and family, of Pickering visited with Mrs. Wm. Graham at Wick one day recently. Mr .and Mrs. E. Till were supper guests with Mr, and Mrs. Gordon Prentice on Wednesday evening. Mrs, Gordon Taylor and Mrs. L. Brawn called on Mrs, F. Mulver of Prince Albert one afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Curry and fam- ily of Leaskkdale visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ray 'Edwards at the Manse on Saturday. It was also noted that applications for Social In- surance Numbers are still being received at a rate of about 5,000 per day; Commission records re- veal that many of these are from people who already have a Social Insurance Number. The UIC emphasizes that, for their own good, Canadians must not have more than one Social Insurance Number.
