It would appear that the future of our Church is in good hands. The Annual Congregational meeting was held on Monday evening, Jan. 18, with a good attendance. Reports from the various organizations of the Church were all -very encour- aging and plans were made for continued. success in 1965. Most of the officers were re-elected indicating good work on their part. There will Bejtwo new members on- the Secon n Stone and Geo. Beare and three on the Board of Stewards, R. Dusty, M. Davidson and Keith Bacon. Appreciation was c¢x- pressed 'to The Rev. and Mrs. Harris for their faithful and efficient work, also to Mrs. J. Dobson and Mrs. D. Lee as organists during the past year. A meeting of the three con- gregations -- Seagrave, Pinedale and Greenbank will be held in this Church on Tuesday, even- ing, Feb. 2nd to decide on the formation of a three-point charge. Oa Sunday afternoon, four car load of young people from Greenbank and Pinedale went to Toronto to attend a Youth Rally in Yorkminster Baptist Church. Legion Ladies Auxiliary Meet The first meeting of 1965, of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Canadian Legion was held on Tuesday, Jan. 12th. The impressive Ceremony of Installation of the newly elect- ed Officers and Executive Com- mittee, was conducted by Com- rade Clare Warren. The meeting had opened in the usual manner, minutes read and adopted, and several small Two new members were welcomed to the Auxiliary, Mrs. Hunter of PORT PERRY STAR, THURSDAY, JANUARY 21st, 19656--5 Seagrave who had just recent- ly transferred from the Whitby Ladies Auxiliary, and also Mrs. Andrews who was installed as a member at this meeting, Comrade Alice Woodcock was presented with a gift by Presi- dent Comrade Jackson in appre- ciation of all she had done in the office of Secretary for the past two years. At this point the new offi. cers were installed, and the meeting continued with the new officers in charge. Comrade Agnes Garvie read several letters of thanks for Christmas gifts that had been donated by the Auxiliary. And President Comrade Marg. Jack- son thanked the retiring. offi- cers for the help and co-opera- tion she had received from them in the past year, and also wel- comed the new officers. The business of setting up new conveners was dealt with, Comrades 'Fines, Evans, and Wallis accepting these posi- tions. Comrades Evans, Read, [Knott and Hope being the: Tele-. phone committees. A discussion on the Bingo's was conducted at great length, it was decided to include a Le- gion special with a smaller jackpkot, besides the regular jackpot game, and it is hoped that this will be an added at- traction to the Bingo fans. The meeting was then ad- journed and a social half-hour was enjoyed, Local Hospital Auxiliary Meet Mrs. Mumford reported for portable X-ray equipment but that figures would be available for the next meeting. Plans for a summer project such as another "Trip for Two" were tenatively discussed and other fund-raising activities such as an "Amateur Night" and "Diminishing Teas" were men- tioned. It was decided to defer serious discussion until Mrs, M. B. Dymond could be present.
