-Hurgt, yoad the mice 10 -- PORT PERRY STAR, THURS.) DECEMBER 17th, 1964 SEAGRAVE NEWS Christmas season is much in evidence around our village, "Christmas Light" was the theme of a candle-lighting ser- vice in the devotional period of U.C.W. given by members of the South group. Various mem- bers presented different aspects of "The Great Light". Mrs. ary let. ter and Mrs. A. Bruce led in prayer. Reports were received from committees then Mr. Mec- Neil took the chair for election of officers. This was quickly done as all officers were re- turned for another year. Five members contributed birthday money. A donation was made to "Care", and the fruit and flower committee were instruct- ed to draw from the treasury to provide Christmas boxes for all shut-ins, The ladies still seemed to feel the embarrass- ment of riches, so made further donations to the board of stew- ards and the fund for improv- ing the basement. Lunch was served by the South group. On Friday evening about 75 ladies from Seagrave, Zion and Pleasant [Point and an old friend Mrs. Beuvalda from Claremant met to enjoy the annual Christ- mas party given by Mrs. Me- Neil. The evening was spent in music and games. Santa (Mrs. G. Stone) arrived and distributed gifts, then all re- tired to the basement where a lovely lunch was served. Thanks Mrs. McNeil.
