Council News The regular meeting of the 'Scugog Township Council was held in the Town Hall on Tues- day, 7th day of July at 8.30 p.m. Councillors present were C. B. Hoult, E. Prentice, Joe Downson and Glen Demara. It was moved by E. Prentice, sec- onded by Glen Demara that C. B. Hoult be acting reeve in the absence of the reeve. Carried. Pogue came before council to request building per- mits for four owners of lots on Plan 792, RESOLUTIONS: 1. That Bruce Mackey in- form Mr. and Mrs. Chaisson on Pt. Lot 7, Con. 10 in this Twp. of Scugog that they cannot stay and use the building, bulit as a garage, as living quarters. This being contrary to our by- laws. Carried. 2. Motion that Bruce V. Mac- key be advised regarding the cottage on Lot 11, Plan 769 which has been built below the specs. given to the building in- spector and that said Mr. Mac- key take necessary legal action in Suit against the owner. Carried. 3. Motion that the person who has erected the temporary building on property of Lot 9, Plan 736 without a permit be instructed by Bruce Mackey to have same removed. Carried. 4. Motion that the treasurer send a cheque in the amount of $100.00 to Brignall Ambulance Service as a subsidy from the township of Scugog. Being our share of the percentage the Port Perry Council suggested. Carried. 5. Motion that the building inspector be instructed to issue permits for four cottages in Plan 792, these to be named-- Geo. Skerratt, Kurt Boehm, Clayton Smith and Dick Bulm- er. Carried. 6. Motion that the Reeve and Clerk-Treas. of the Twp. of Scugog be and are hereby au- thorized to sign a Quit Claim Deed to Phillip Goreski and Anne Goreski of all the right, title and interest of the Town- ship of Scugog in a road allow- ance sixty-six feet (66') in width shown as "STREET" . . from the shores of Lake Scu- gog along the northerly limits of registered Plan No. 337 for the Twp. of Scugog, subject to the approval of the Juit Claim deed by the solicitor for the township of Scugog. Prince Albert News A welcome is extended to our new minister, Rev. A. Rice, his wife and family. \ Pine Ridge Park was the site chosen for the annual Sunday School picnic. The usual bathing and sports were enjoyed. The well-laden table of delicious food topped the event. Much credit is due those convening various angles of the picnic. Glad to learn Mr. F. Pearce is home from the hospital but sorry to hear Mr. E. McCrea is hospitalized. It is reported Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Brown, Port Perry have purchased the Saegar property and moved into the house. Mr. and Mrs. H. Hodgins spent a few days with his sister, Mr. and Mrs. Parkin, Reaboro. Mr. and Mrs. C. Neunham and Gary spent a week recently at Canal Lake. Mr. and 'Mrs. Les. Beacock and Bryan enjoyed a holiday at a cottage of her sister, Mr. and Mrs, L. Devitt at "Eag'e Eye Camp" on Trent River, Mr. and Mrs. E. Martyn have arrived home from an enjoy- able three week air trip to the West Coast also visiting rel- atives. Mr. and Mrs. James Doupe and Mr. and Mrs. C. Neunham spent the long week-end at a cottage on the Trent River. Mr. and Mrs. C. Cameron and Jim have been visiting relat- ives in Beaverton and Orillia. Rev. Charles and Mrs. Clark, Toronto are in the village vis- iting Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Heayn and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Smith were guests at the Wray-Brown wed- ding in Kedron Church. Mr. and Mrs. B. Howey and Scott were at a cottage at Pap- ineau Lake. Mr. and Mrs. N. Wilson and son Lloyd were guests at the Read-Miller wedding in Colum- bus Church on Saturday.
