Martin and Linda in Bowmanville, then called on Mrs. Christie's bro- ther Gordon who is in the hos- pital with a badly fractured knee due to an accident. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Trick on the arri- val of a son last week. Christopher Edwards had his tonsils removed last week, Bro- ther Darryl has been suffering from an ear infection. Both are recovering satisfactorily. Mr. and Mrs. Harley Clarke of Prince Albert and Mrs. T. Stewart of Epsom visited Mrs. Stewart's brother Louis Palmer in Peterborough, Mr. Palmer Council Briefs Chief Constable R. J. Camer- on appeared before Council and explained the reason for Colon- ial Bus Lines changing their bus stop from Queen St. to the Chas. Reesor Service Station. Council considered the above changes and then passed the following Resolution: RESOLUTION--Moved by R. A. Kenny, seconded by 1. W. Parkinson that the Bus Stop sign on Queen St. be placed op- posite the East Corner of the Flamingo Restauarant and read "No Parking 11.00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m, to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday. Carried. Councillor Robt, Kenny men- tioned toilet facilities for the Ball Park and felt that this matter should be given some consideration. NEWS suffered a severe stroke last week. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Ray Medd who celebrated their thirtieth wedding anni- versary last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Medd entertained the immediate mem- bers of the family with a din- ner party. Present also were Mr, Medd's sister Dorothy Ca- therwood, Mr. Catherwood and sons, also Mrs. Medd's Sister Nora Prentice and Mr, Prentice. Dr. Pat Asling, Mr. J. Clarke, Mr, and Mrs. Keith Ashton and Richard visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Asling and family of Piersons landing. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kerry and Mr. and Mrs. Chas, Geer were in Port Carling and Cold- water on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gormley of Leaskdale visited Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wilson on Saturday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Powell and James have moved to Whitby. Seagraves High School is a Class A school. Our school won first in the dis- trict in football, track, basket- ball, U.LL. events, and boy's tennis. We have a new high school building built in 1960.
