- Local Men Attend 0ASA Meeting The 0.A.S.A. Convention in Owen Sound was once again a great success, Local delegates Carl Luke, Jim Irvine, Len Clark and Vin Walker were on hand to voice the opinion of Port Perry Minor Softball on the 19 ammendments which were presented. Eight am- mendments were passed, ten were defeated and one was with drawn. Both Port Perry am- mendments were defeated along with the Metro Toronto am- mendment to raise the Squirt Age to 11 years. This was de- feated by a mere three votes. Only two of those passed were of any great importance to lo- Ashburn News Rev. K. A. and Mrs. Heron; sons Jordan and Jeffrey, of Petrolia; spent a couple of days last week with Mr. and Mus, Edgar Heron. Recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Ashton were: Mr. and Mrs. Reg. Doubt, of Baileboro; Mr. and Mrs. F. Beare, of Greenbank; Mr. and Mrs, Herman Kerry of Epsom. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mitchell of Deep River visited relatives in the village last week. Mrs. H. Doble spent a few days recently with Mr, and Mrs. W. Doble, at Sunderland. Thirteen members of the Ash- burn W.M.S. attended the Easter Thank-Offering service at St. James Church, Stouffville on April 1st. Miss Vera Leach visited Mr. and Mrs, Gordon English, Woodville during the week.
