"Duff Ro- man" of the CKEY Good Guys was master of. ceremonies and was a terrific ht, ' There were prizes for spot! dances, broom dance and an elimination dance. Even the older young-ones were seen enjoying themsélves doing the twist & mexican hat dance. Pop and doughnuts were ser- ved . during 'the evening down- |, stairs. The cold drinks were kindly dondted by Smniith Bever- ages, Oshawa, Coca Cola," Ux- bridge and Pure Springs of Port Perry. Bob Carnegie, Wentworth Watson, Merlin Dowson and Jack Hope 'helped with expeh§es: 'Many thanks 'to all the older younig ones for their 'help. It was good to see our "Teens" enjoying them- gélves and let's 'hope this is the beginnitig of organized dances ig for them. : SEAGRAVE NEWS The U.C.W. of Seagrave United Church met on Wednes- day evening Nov. 13th with an attendance of twenty-nine and gix visitors. Mrs. Clifford Short called the meeting to order by reading a thought, on Memorial Day, a- round which topic the devotions were based. . The hymn, "God of Our Fa- thers, nown of Old", was sung, followed by prayer for peace led by Mrs. McNeil, Mrs. Chas. Short read a portion of Scripture pertaining to the "Souls of the Righteous". Mrs. Gordon Gilson Jr. of Pleasant Point gave a splendid topic on "Building in Peace", stressing the importance of the mother's role in this project and urging each of us to count our blessings. Mrs. Tobin read Mrs. Dick- son's letter from Formosa tell- ing of the struggle they were having in carrying on their work, after typhoon "Gloria". Mrs. King read a poem entitled "Be Satisfied". The singing of the hymn "O God of Love, O King of Peace" closed the wor-. ship service. After thanking all who took part Mrs. Short turned the meeting over to the President, Mrs. Reynolds for the business, The minutes were approved | as read. The December meeting to be one week earlier on ac- count of Mrs. McNeil's party on Dec. 11th, The various of- ficers and committee chairmen made their reports. Mrs. Fish- ley said that there were three quilts ready to tie, and she read a letter from Mrs. Smith re- questing help to pack bales on Nov. 26th in Queen St. Church Annex. After various items of busi- | ness had been attended to the meeting was closed by singing the Theme Song and repeating the Mizpah Benediction. Mem- bers of the North Group served a deliicous lunch during the social hour. * * * Mrs. G. Wanamaker, Mrs. R. Reynolds, Mrs. B. L. Wana- maker, Mrs. O. J. Boe and Mrs. Gordon Sweetman attended the Tea and Bazaar at Prince Al- bert on Nov. 13th. Sympathy is expressed to Mr, 0. J. Boe, in the death of his sister Mrs. Garnet Roberts of Whitby. Several from this community called at the fun- eral parlours. . Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nodwell entertained Mrs. A. Kalil, and Miss Kathlyn Kalil of Toronto, also Mr. and Mrs, Earl Sulli- van, Cheryl and Judy of West. on over tlie week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Stone have returned home, Mrs, Stone having spent several days In the Port Perry Hospital, while Mr. Stone was with their daughter Mrs, Hugh Strong. We are sorry Mr. J. C, Mac- Taggart is still in hospital, We hope to hear that his health is improving. Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. G. Wanamaker on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Murphy of Lindsay.
