Both Mr. Oliphant and Mr. Frederick spoke to the members of the local Lions. S.T.F. district meeting. The occasion marked the induction of new Teachers into the Ont- ario Secondary Schools Teach- After a pleas- | took the oath of allegiance in an impressive ceremony. Mr. Litt, vice-principal of P.P.H.S. and second vice-pesident of District 20 of the 0.S.S.T.F. read the names of new teachers in the various district high schools. Diamond Coll, Firth and Miss Dr. John Diamond of Port Ferry is attending the first three day- scientific meeting of the. Ontario Chapter of the Col- lege of General Practice as part of his formal program of tak- ing 100 hours of postgraduate study every two years. More than 500 family doctors from all sections of Ontario and up- per New York State are attend- ing. Lectures have been drawn from major medical Colleges of Canada and the U.S.A. In addition to days packed with scientific lectures, all de- signed to help family doctors keep abreast of the pace of medical progress, Dr. Diamond will be free to examine a broad range of technical and scientific exhibits. The Port Perry Boy Scout's paper salvage held on Saturday was quite a success. Nine tons of newspapers and magazines were. collected or brought to the Scout Hall on Lilla Street. Young Lad Contributes $10.00 To Women's Hospital Auxiliary The happy young lad photo- graphed with Mrs. M. B. Dy- mond is 11 year old Larry Reesor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Reesor, Bigelow St., Port Perry. He is seen pre- senting Mrs. Dymond with a 10 which he raised through the sale of small bottles of "Na-Churs" liquid fertilizer, the company his father represents. Larry didn't know what talent money was, before his mother explained it. He became fas- cinated by the idea' of raising money for equipment to the hospital through the Women's Hospital Auxiliary and made an arrangement with his father to sell liquid fertilizer. - In a short time he sold 24 bottles similar to the one he holds in his hand, paid off his father and the profit of ten dollars is what he presented the president of the Hospital Auxi- liary, Mrs: Dymond. ~~ The money will go to a fund for the purchasing of new oxy- gen and suction equipment for the hospital and will be donated by the Women's Hospital Aux- iliary. ~- Larry is a Sixer of the First Port Perry Cub "B" Pack and also a member of the baseball team which recently won the Pee Wee Fast Ball Champion- ship. Mrs. Dymond lias held the president's position of the Wo- men's Hospital Auxiliary since its inauguration in November, 19562. During those years the members of the Auxiliary have all been working ardently for the welfare of the Community : Hospital and have raised a great : deal of money during the past "years for the benefit of the | patients confined to the hos- Name Juniors Win Yourself A Season's Pass Tke new Port Perry Junior Hockey team is in need of a name for the team.
