The third game was the Consolation final and after seven innings of real fine softball the Willowdale Squirts were the winners for the second Last year these same two teams met here at Port Perry to play for this trophy and Willowdale won that game by an 11 to 8 score. The winning run was scored in the bottom of the seventh inning after both clubs had taken a small lead and then lost it. Rick Evans started on the mound for Port Perry but ran into trouble in the third inning and was relieved by Laurie Williams. These boys gave up a total of 12 hits, the same number the Port batters picked up. At bat Ted Hall, Rick Short and Dave Bour- geois led the way but all the boys were hitting well in this game. The Championship trophy was won again this year by the Galt Legion. These teams may well be here on Sept. 7 when the Ont. Squirt Cham- pionship is played. Four Zone winners will be on hand this day, one will be Zone 4 which includes Cobourg, Oshawa, Stouffville and Port Perry. The Squirt play- offs open here at Port Perry on Sat. at 3 p.m. against Stouffville so if the Legion Squirts want to take part on Sept. 7, they have to start winning each playoff game as they come. They proved at Preston they can do it, now it's up to the boys.
