Harold Douglas Scott, of Barrie, passed away suddenly at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, on Sunday, March 31st. Harold was the second son, of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Scott, of Seagrave. The deceased was born in Seagrave --y Legion Auxiliary On Mar. 26 there was an executive meeting held at Mrs. F. Warrens' (Clara) and almost all the girls turn- ed out, then that same night we held the regular meeting and that wasn't so well attended, but of course that!' was to be expected as this is a busy time of the year, what with Easter coming on and children needing new clothes and in lots of cases mom makes them. We have a very busy time coming up as I said once before | with our banquests and what not. On | April 9 there is a Ladies' Curling Club Banquet and also that same night we have been invited to a social at the Whitby Aux. I am looking for-' ward to it as we do have lots of fun | and we are made very welcome by the ladies of that Legion. All our members won't be going as they have to work at the banquet as that will: be their night for working, we have | different groups working each time something comes up and as that is the: way things go, they accept it, and do a very good job. On April 29 there. is another social at Bowmanville and |! on May 16 a zone rally at Ajax and I do hope our members make a goed showing. I made a mistake girls, | that social in Whitby is on April 24 instead of the 8th as I said earlier in my letter. Our next general meeting will be held on April 23. We had to give up our April 9th meeting as that night | we are having that banquet for the: ladies curling club. That zone rally will be at 6 o'clock so we will have to leave early to get there, but we will decide that at our next meeting. The jackpot never went this time at the bingo so there will be $180.00 go- ing at the next bingo on April 11, a Thursday. It starts at 8 o'clock and we hope you will be there and good luck to you all. That is all for now but I hope to have more news next time. Remember the BINGO at PORT PERRY, THURS, APRIL 11 at 8.00 p.m. Have you fought the foes of Freedom, in the air, on land or sea? Home or Foreign, East or Westward, Holland, France or Italy? We don't agk about religion, nor if you were in "the line." Comrade, for the sake of comrades, join the legion; now's the time! Do you shirk a bounden duty? Is it that you do not care? Have you lost your pride of service? Is the burden hard to bear? You've a duty; then perform it . . all for one and one for all JOIN THE LEGION, ALL YOU VETERANS, for divided we shall fall.
