Tins day, October 24th, at 8:30 p.m. Mr. W. J. Wood, District Director on the Cream Producers' Marketing Board, addressed the meeting. He out- lined some of the work that the Cream Producers' Marketing Board carried out during the year. He stated that much of the surplus butter that was going into storage was not because of butter produced from farm separ ated cream, but from the overflow of whole milk from fluid and man- ufactured milk producers. He also said that the cream producers had co- operated with the other dairy groups in an effort to bring about an overall milk marketing plan. Agreement on a plan has not been possible to date, and he predicted that no vote on an overall milk marketing plan would take place this year. The election of officers and direc- tors resulted as follows -- : President--Gordon Rynard, Zephyr, #1 Vice-President --C. DeJonge, Brook- lin, #1 Secretary-Treasurer--H. L. With the new tower going officially 'into operation last Thursday (October 25th) after a | period of extensive tests, the effective radiatng power of 102,00 watts video , was increased to 139,000 watts and audio output was increased from 65, ,000 watts to 88,400 watts. Station Manager Wally Rewegan stated, "CHEX TV is very pleased to be able to extend CHANNEL 12 cover- age into many communities which we were unable to serve adequately in the past. Through our affiliation with the CBC Network and with our own array of new programs for the '62-'63 season, | we will be able to provide not only | light entertainment but programs of | 'an educational and cultural nature to areas which previously could not be reached satisfactorily, We anticipate | that 269, more homes will now. view CHANNEL 12 for the first time." CHEX TV Chief Engineer Bert Crump, who toured the proposed new coverage area the week-end of October | 21st and 22nd while the new tower was in operation for testing purposes, reports that good signals are now reaching Bancroft, Tweed, Sutton, Minden, Uptergrove and Belleville. While the tower was being tested prior to the official opening, letters, and phone calls were received from as far away as Toronto, Oshawa, and Orillia stating that a good signal was being received.
