Port Perry had previously won district 41 championship and as a result played host to the brothers. from the west. After a few practice throws the] players took their places for the first | game. Port Perry won the toss and elected to let the Princeton. team bat first. - The first game was closely contested until the third inning when Port Perry broke loose for 18 runs and a 24-14 lead. The Princeton boys battled back with 7 runs in the fourth and 12 runs in the sixth. After six innings, Princeton were hot on the: heels of Port with a score of 36-30, but Port Perry held on to win the first game by a 38-37 count. After a short breather both teams took their places for the second game with Princeton determined to even the series at a game each. Princeton broke in front early in the game and held a commanding lead, until the 8th inning, when the Port lads broke loose for a ten run inning, giving them a 20-16 lead. After adding 7 runs in ninth Port Perry took the second game 27-16 entitling them to the championship in 2 straight games, Brother Harold Wickett, past pre- sident of District 41, Dart Baseball League then paid tribute to the bro- thers from Princeton for their fine sportsmanship and presented 'the trophy to brother Bob Crozier, cap- tain of the Port Perry team. And somewhere in Alberta there's a youth eagerly an- ticipating a visit to Prince Edward Island. For the first time in the 31-year' history of the Canadian Council on 4- I Clubs, an interprovincial exchange program will be launched in 1963. Each of the provinces will select nine hoys and girls between the ages | of 16 and 21. They will be assigned to farm hames_in each, of the other | nine provinces during the carly part of July next year. She spent the entire 70 years of her married life on their farm, Lot 15, Concession, Cart- wright Twp. The funeral service was conducted by her pastor Rev. P. Romeril of Blackstock United Church.
