Married Recently in Port Perry | REAMSBOTTOM - HASTINGS Port Perry United Church, decor- ated with gladioli, stocks, and ferns was the setting for the evening wed- ding service of Kaye, younger daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hastings, of Port Perry, to Mr. Lee Reamsbot- tom, of Prince Albert, on June 2, 1962. The Rev. Eldon Linstead officiated. ----Given- in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full length, long sleeved gown of white nylon sheer with bateau neckline. The neckline was enhanced by an overlay of chan- _ tilly lace, dotted with sequins and seed pearls. The long flowing skirt was trimmed with several appliques of chantilly lace, with sequins and pearls, and the bouffant. line at back fell softly from three separate nylon sheer roses. Her waist length veil was held in place by a coronet of sequins and pearls. She carried a cascade of baby pink rosebuds and stephonitis. Miss Gloria Hastings was mald of ~ honour for her sister; Mrs, Wm. Gib- son of Port Perry, and Mrs. Ronald Gibson of Oshawa, were bridesmaids. Their dresses were of pale blue org- anza with white lace 'bodice, covered with full length organza sleeveless duster coats with large cape collars. They wore matching headdresses of blue organza roses and veils, and car- ~ ried cascades of pink daisies. Mr. Everett Doupe, of Prince Al- bert, was best man, and the ushers were Mr. Chas, Hastings, brother of the bride, and Mr. Raymond Doupe. Mrs. John Dobson played the wed- ding music, and conducted the Church Choir in the singing of "The Lord's Prayer", and "0 Perfect Love," Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Masonic Hall, where guests from Port Perry, Prince Al- bert, Whitby, Oshawa, Toronto, Ot- tawa, Arnprior, and Regina were warmly received by the bride and groom, their respective parents, and the bridesmaids, after which all en- | joyed an informal buffet supper, | Later, the guests gathered at the home of the bride's parents, and after an enjoyable evening, bid good-bye to Lee and Kaye as they left for their honeymoon to Eastern points. In Toronto, Kaye was surprised by a shower given by Miss Connie Hancock and mutual classmates from Toronto Teacher's College. That same day two calls came in from the farm of Russ Pogue, Scugog, when blazes started during baling op- erations, Saturday morning lightning started | a fire in the new barn just completed by Ray Medd near Epsom. Mr. Medd is said to have just finished obtaining the insurance coverage when the siren started, he drove home to discover that it was his barn on fire.
