Port Perry Win Ist Home Game Port Perry upset Uxbridge "Black Hawks" 8-6 in overtime in an O.H.A. Lakeshore Intermediate game at the Community Memorial Arena on Tues-' day of this week. Gerry Robinson scored the eventual winning goal in the overtime period. Dean West counted an insurance mar- ker into an open net. Other marksmen were Keith West with two, Murray Jones, Garnet Warriner and Raye West with singles. Art Rennick led the Black Hawks with three goals, while Paul Tomlin- son had two and Elmo' Gibson one. Thursday Night Bowling League Our annual Turkey Roll was held -- on Dec; 14th and proved to be a very enjoyable evening for everyone. 86.9% or 73 of the eligible members turned out to roll for 24 chickens and two Turkeys. About. 3 a.m. on the morning of Dec. 16th the Port Perry Fire Brigade were called to the scene. The fire had gained some headway when the firemen arrived, but they nearly had it under control when: their water supply ran out. By the 'time the truck returned to Port Perry for an- other load of water the flames had broken out again and the building was completely destroyed. The Prince Albert folk, assisted by service Clubs in Port Perry raised a sum of money to assist the family who have two small children, 4 years and 14 months. Mr. and Mrs. Bueman are now liv- ing in the Howsam apartments, Port Perry. Port Perry and button each entered one team and Brock entered two teams. Congratulations to the girls and to Miss Hastings, their coach. Last Friday, two exhibition basket- Lal-gaiies ¥ V Whitby were played at our school, Both- our Junior and Senior teams were victorious, The Juniors won by a score of 26-21, and the: Senior boys won by 28-18. Plowmen's Ass'n Stuart Ball of Uxbridge was elected president of the North Ontario Plow- men's Association at the annual meet- ing held in the Board Room of the Ontario Department of Agriculture, Uxbridge, on Monday, December 11th, It was reported that, in spite of in- clement weather, an excellent match had been held in September on the farm of J. A. Brockie at Brechin, with twenty-two plowmen competing. The programme for the past year was under the direction of Tom Kelly, | President and John IL. McDonald, ' Secretary-Treasurer. In 1962, plans call for the plowing match to be held in Uxbridge Town- ship. The tentative date is Thurs- day, October 4th.
