JOHN Mc¢KEE Following an illness of five days, Mrs. John McKee passed away in Port Perry Hospital, Monday, April 10th, 1961. ' The deceased was born in Manvers Township in Nov. 1879, a daughter of the late George and Mary Argue. She was united in. marriage with John McKee in 1906 and moved to Cart- wright Township, two miles south of Cadmus, where they farmed until 1930 when Mr. McKee died. She remained on the farm for a few years, then spent a year in Sas- katchewan, and Manitoba with her brothers, returning in 1938 and that fall took up residence in Blackstock, where she resided until her death. Before her marriage she was a member of the Presbyterian' Church in Pontypool and sang in that choir for several years. After coming to Cartwright she poined the Methodist (later United) Church of Cadmus, where she was a most faithful work- er; secretary of the Women's Associa- tion for ten years. Since coming to Blackstock she has been a member and ardent worker of the W.M.S., W.A. and a most faithful attendant at church and Sunday School. She has been a member and worker in the Women's Institute for at least thirty- - -- ae five years, seldom missing a meeting. Mable McKee was a woman who always kept busy, making little gifts and doing acts of kindness for her many friends, but never too busy to be sociable to her many visitors. She will be greatly missed by a host of friends, © Besides her husband, Mrs. McKee was predeceased by three brothers, Alfred, John and Herbert Argue. Sur- viving are three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Leslie Mountjoy, Blackstock, Mrs. Franks, Peterboro and Mrs. H, Argue, Toronto and several nieces and ne- phews, The remains rested at the McDer- mott-Panabaker funeral parlors, Port Perry where service was held April 12, conducted by her pastor Rev. P. Romeril. Temporary interment was in the vault of Union cemetery, final interment to be in the family plot of the Anglican cemetery. Pall-bearers were: Messrs. Mar- wood McKee, Lavern Devitt, Harry Franks, Cecil Hamilton, Oscar Mec- Quade and Harold Martyn. Among the many beautiful flowers were tributes from the W.A,; W.L; neighbours and friends and a dona- tion to Missions from the W.M.S. Friends were present from Oshawa, Bowmanville, Peterboro, Fenelon Falls Powles Corners and surrounding com- munity. Week days--50c.
