During the friendly social hour; Mr, Mosienko greeted the ladies. § Neighhourly News' | Broadcaster Arthur Phelps Arthur Phelps, nated broadcaster and literary critic is the new voice of "Neighbourly News", broadcast each Sunday on the CBC Trans-Canada network at 10 a.m, EST. Mr. Phelps is replacing Don Fair- bairn who has withdrawn from the program for. health reasons. The radio career of Mr, Phelps dates back to 1936.when he did a series of talks for the CBC in Winni- peg. The son of a' Methodist minister, Mr. Fhelps was born in Columbus, Ont., and was educated at Lindsay Collegiate and the University of Ta- ronto, graduating in 1918. Following post-graduate work he entered the ministry. He resigned to accepted a post as assistant professor of English at Cornell College in Iowa in the fall of 1920. A year later Mr. Phelps moved to United College at the University of Manitoba in Winni- peg, serving as head of the English department for 23 years.
