Sa 2; 3 1 45 lv. 8--THE PORT PERRY STAR, THURSDAY, APRIL 4th, 1957 District Churches The United Church of Canada SCUGOG PASTORAL CHARGE First of all, just in case there is nou sufficient space in our column we wish the following members of our Birthday Club, many happy returns of ther birthday: From the Island, Eddie Joknston, Muriel Lamont, Jane La: mont, Dennis Martyn and Darlene Michie; -- From Manchester, Walter Green, Jim Aird, Susan Roach;-- From Prospect, Donald Wayne Holtby, John Benschop and Glen lan Holtby. There was a fine meeting of the Pursonage Board last week. The work of renovating will commence right away. We want to thank the W.As for their co-operation in providing the necessary funds, and in three or four years we hope to have the work com- pleted. Un Sunday the sun shone brightly, and the congregations were very good, Prospect was nearly back to normal. There has been so much sickness in that area. At Scugog we had with us the Saville Family from Toronto, who The Mothers of Scugog pro- vided a wonderful supper for our P.M.S, Hi C members. At our next supper on April 14th at Prospect we hereby invite the "boy friends" of our girls to come. That will be much better than having so many of our girls stay away, We missed you girls. It was a fine gathering, We missed) you Helen Holtby, and do hope that you are getting better, Nettie Aldred. was in charge, and everything went well. Barry Dunbar and John Tweedie from our College in Toronto were on hand. John 1¢d us in a sing-song and at the service sang, "If with all your hearts". Barry gave the address to our young people. Those taking part in the service were: Carol Midgley, Steven Fralick and Linda' Fralick who read the Scriptures. Joanne Mosienko gave a piano selection and was our pianist. Jim Lamont and Albert Leach took up the offering. Each of the Counsellors had their part, and the Minister took charge of the Study period. The Junior Farmers' Male Quartette consisted of Alan Ball, Walter Kerry, Hugh Baird, and Jack Summer, The boys sang two lovely numbers, and | we say "Thank You" to every one who contributed to the supper and service. Maybe, when we begin to understand the significance of what our Leaders are doing, ALL the parents of our teenagers will encourage them to come and also join us at the service, The P.M.S. Hi C. Club holds its next re- gular meeting at Manchester Thurs. day, April 11th at 8.80 p.m. On Sunday evening April Tth there will be a Service at Scugog Head at 7.30 p.m, The Junior Choir will lead in song, and Rita Rodman will sing. The new Boards will be dedicated. The Minister will meet with the Elders of the Island after the service, Let us remember the Harold Holtbys in our prayer, Little Neal had a ruptured appendix and is "doing very well. May the sun continue to shine, and may His love warm your hearts. IN p Sunk Pine Grove Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hill visited her sister Mrs. A. Stubbins of Toronto, on will soon be in our midst again for the, Pearson, with Jean Pearson as Pianist. I'riday evening. lr LL Zz NS!
