Armstrong had charge of the Church serie during which Mrs, Wm, Hopkins sang a solo "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus". © The Ladies' Guild and Bible Class held very successful pot luck supper and entertainment in the basement of the church, Following the delicious supper the president of the Bible Class, Mrs, fred Daw,- welcomed everyone and Mr, Walter Kerr led in some community singing. Hugh Knight also favoured with two solos "Galway Bay", and "Have Faith in God", Mr, Walter Kerr then invited Mr. and Mrs, Fred Stephen to come to the front, Mrs, Wes, Routley pinned a beautiful corsage of carnations on Mrs. Stephen and the following address was read by Mr. Kerr: Dear Mr, and Mrs. Stephen: We all recognize the fact that "Time Marches On", and changes take place and this community has been ng exception, We yout friends and neighbours feel very sorry: that this change has.in- cluded you, You hhve lived practically: all your married life in this district, and all will agree, that you both, and your two daughters, Glenys and Fern, have! gained the respect and lave of all. You have gained this, because you and yours, have at all times been very willing to do, whenever and whatever, was in your power to make this com- munity a better place in which to live. You both 'have been members of Burn's Church, Ashbuin, all the time you have lived here and your daugh- ters as soon as they were old enough to know the responsibility that goes with being a church member, You, Mr. Stephen, have been a member of the board of managers and elders of this church and a great help in our choir for many, many years, As you leave us to go to another place of residence, we all wish you God brances and said he would always cher- ish fond memories of Ashburn and particularly Burn's Church, Mr, and Mrs. Borland, of Markham, were then introduced by Mrs. William Hopkins.
