The hard-time dance was very sue- cessful Saturday evening although the scheduled basketball game had to be postponed. There were novelty dances and prizés=given. Also there was a light lunch served from the cafeteria. The basketball girls did a fine Job for their fund. Mr. Greaves of Dr. Salsbury's b- oratories © was present on Monday afternoon. Mr. Greaves was showing slides of ® diffenent poultry diseases which were quite interesting to town students as well as farm students, Mr. McKenzie of the Air Force ad- dressed the senior students on Friday of last week. A% total of 83 boys took part in the competition for the trophy which was donated by the Agricultural Chemicals Company, Port Hope. This is the second cup the firm has donated, as the first has been won permanently by the Durham County Jr. Farmers. Each county was entitled to enter 10 boys, with the three high scoring boys comprising each team. The| standing and score of the first seven Durham boys, out of a possible score of 850 was: Donald' Green, 822; Mau- rice Hallowell, 813; Gerdld Brown, 806; Ken Brooks, 805; Ron Brooks, 803; Nelson Gardiner, 801; Lawrence McLaughlin, 794. The three boys on the winning Duir- ham team each received a cash prize and two bushels of registered seed. Farmer Association will' present a Variety Show in Uxbyidge; Port Perry, Brook- lin"and Behverton during the month of May. =~ . The programme which - includes numbers from each club will provide an excellent evening's entertainment, The Uxbridge Juniors are fentur- ing their choir, directed by Mrs. Else Dobson, 'and their male Quartette trained by Mrs. Duleie Colby. The choir, a new project for the Juniors, has been invited to sing at the Pro- vincial Junior Farmer Conference at Guelph on April- 25th. The male Quartette, now fairly well known, has appeared at'a number of major func- tions and hag been very well received. Last fall this quartette won high praise froin the judges in the Pro- vineial Junior Farmer Quartette fi- -nals in Toronto. A half hour Minstrel Show will be the Brooklin Juniors' contribution to the evening's programme. A number of these Juniors have appeared fn Minstrel Shows in various localities in the past few years and have given a good account of themselves.
