Suffers Not only is the incidence of tuber- culsis drppping in Canada but niore aid is being extended to patients and convalescents than ever before. Con- solidating local efforts in this direc- tion, the newly formed Ontario Coun- ty and Oshawa Tuberculosis Associa- tion met at a dinner last week in Ad- elaide House. At the request of the Ontario Tuberculosis Ass'n, a number of groups which worked independently culosis dropping in Canada but more of one another in this area, amalgam- ated. It has been feared that these district groups might lose their ident- ity and some of their personal contact with patients when they merged into the larger organization but the meet- ing last week showed conclusively that' this is not the result. The primary aim' of every member remains the same -- to aid and befriend sufferers from tuberculosis: to educate the pub- lic in prevention; to give free chest examinations and to rehabilitate those released from sanitoria. The United Church W.M.S. held its November meeting 'at the home of Mrs, C, Hill 'with the president open- ing the meeting with prayer, Mrs, A, Taylor gave the devotional, read a paper, "Blessed are the Peacemakers", and offered prayer. There was some fear that people in rural areas might not] want to contribute if they felt their money was going to the people of the city merely because the head quarters is located there. * The gen- eral thought of the members was that care should be taken to keep their per- snal entacts with patients, who all too ! often are neglected by friends when taken ill. ¢ 'highlights of -the--Sectional Rally re= cently held at Enniskillen, A short talk on Peace wac given by Mrs. Hill, and Mrs. Hutton closed. the meeting with prayer.
