Len Caruso the big threat of the Georgetown club, who came down from the Brampton seniors after they folded up this spring, is usually good for six or seven goals each ggme, at 'least for two or three. But on Satur- "day night Caruso was held to a goal- less game as Brooklin's Al Kivell did i 8 magnificent job of covering this pacesetter of the visiting club, Kivell was with his man every minute he was on the field and he gave him no op-| portunity to score as he kept the sparker of the N. and G's from getting the ball and when he did get a shot sway it was jolted out of range of the net. 'Kivell, though no scorer himself, must be given a great deal of credit for Brooklin's win as he kept the main cog in the Georgetown driving force out of action for the whole game. Brooklin led 2-1 after the opening phrase, 8-2 at halftime and increased their lead to 6-8 as the game entered the last quarter, Don Craggs scored four of Brave lin's goals' while Gord Cook scored a pair. These two ace snipers were given help by Robie Robson with two assists and Bruce Mitchell with éne. Georgetown's goals were all single- tons scored by G. Wilson, D. Ross, J Haines and B. W. Franklin, Storage Specialist at the Ontario Agricultural College, Guelph. When storing turnips a few important points should be followed: (1) Thoroughly clean the storage before. using. Spray all surfaces with a mixture of 2 lbs. of copper sulphate and 4 lbs; of hydrated lime in 10 gal- lons of water; (2) Store only sound roots; (8) Use slatted bins to permit air circulation around the roots; (4) Ventilate the storage with cool air to keep the temperature at about 82° F.; and (6) Keep the humidity high By using an earthen floor, Hoar frqst. or drops of water ap- pearing on the céiling and walls of a storage indicate insufficient insula- tion. This may result in freezing damage or rotting from water drip. More ventilation or the directing eof an electric fan toward the ceiling will assist in clearing away excess mols- ture. But a permanent cure can only be effected by adding more insula- tion to the- storage. Additional information on turnip storage is contained in Circular 166, (3 : "Modernizing --the Turnip Storage", agricultural representative.
