Come out and enjoy a good home- was found on a sideroad | More Interest Needed It would appear that the value of trees in retaining moisture in the soil tas not been fully realized by the farming communities. A drive along .country roads north of Port Perry revealed thousands, yes! thousands of tent caterpillar nests and many trees partially or complete- ly destroyed. Were these little pests to attack the fall wheat or the pasture land, the farmers in the area would not be slow in organizing torch light bri- gades to burn them out. A few nights work would make a vast difference in the appearance of the road side, and be a boon to the land. Would probably be a help in keeping down the price of cherries and apples, too. ne ne 'Birdseye Center Swimming Pool WILL OPEN FOR THE 1952 SEASON ON SATURDAY ™ June 7th General Admission--20c. each SEASON TICKETS--$5.00 TTT Northumberland and Durham Baseball League June 6--Janetville at Bethany Blackstock at Millbrook June 9-----Janetville at Millbrook June 11---Janetville at Port Perry June 13---Port Perry, at Bethany June 14---Janetville at Blackstock June '16--Bethany at Millbrook * June 18---Bethany at Port Perry 20--Port Perry at Janetville Millbrook at Blackstock June 23--Millbrook at Janetville Blackstock at Bethany June 25---Millbrook at Port Perry Bethany at Blackstock June 27--Bethany at Janetville Port Perry at Blackstock Juge 30--Blackstock at Janetville July 2--Blackstock at Port Perry June 'July 4---Millbrook at Bethany on Economical rE onopucal A cooked meal.
