Owing to the freezing rain around midnight on Saturday, a number of Port Perry folk 'were forced to spend the night in thelr cars at the foot .of some hill. It is reported thal, approximate- ly 80 cars (not all from Port Perry) were parked at Myrtle Station over night and a hundred or more on various places near Oshawa. We were very happy to have with us our Honorary Pre- sident Mrs. R. Wiley. Mrs. Gordon Mark conducted | the Worship Service. The Scrip- ture was read by Mrs. J. Crane and an Easter Story was read by Mrs. Aylmer Lee and the Service was byought to a close with a pray- er taken by Mrs. Arthur Cox. Mrs. E. Kennedy gave a very in- teresting report on her trip to the Presbyterial Conference in Osha- wa, we were glad that at least one of our members could attend this conference and bring back the findings to us. The need for used clothing was stressed and the Service Club girls are asked to bring any clothing that they have to the next meeting, which in turn will be passed on to the Evening Auxiliary to help supplement the bale that they are packing at the end of April. Our President Mrs. Bruce Beare conducted the Business for the Fashion Show, and called on each convener to give a report on the work of their respective commit- tees. It was decided to take a Bus to go to Beaverton. This Bus will leave . from the bus station at 7 o'clock sharp, Wednesday; April 2. Anyone wishing to go to Beaver- ton please be there on time. The ticket conveners have ask- ed all the girls to hand in their money and' any tickets that they have left by Saturday at the latest 30 these tickets can be used at the door. The Service Club girls took a great deal of pleasure in donat- ing the sum of $26.00 to the Scouts for their new Scout Building. Our meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction and a tasty Junch was served by the Commit- tee In charge, who were Mrs. Lee, Mrs. J. Crane and Mrs: A. Cox. Our. About 700 attended a delicious Banquet followed by Toasts and addresses from Grand Chapter Officers and distinguished guests. The Worthy Matrons, Worthy Patrons, Associate Matrons and Associate Patrons entertained the Guests with a beautiful drill which lasted nearly an hour.
