Seagrave W. A. The February meeting 'of the Seagrave W. A. was held in the Sunday School room on the after- noon of Feb. 18th with the North group in charge . The meeting opened with the reading of a tribute to our late King, followed by the_singing of the Queen. Miss Radcliffe gave a very interesting talk on "Homes" which was enjoyed by everyone. There was something for every- one in her message which we can all apply in our own families. It was decided to have a miniature sale late in the summer of small articles instead of the usual apron sales of last year, using our talent to buy material. * After some dis- cussion it was decided to have the basement redecorated, using the money realized from the supper as a fund to pay for same. Get your Box ready for social to bé held in March. Date'to bes decided later. An invitation was extended to our W. A. to attend the World day of Prayer at Sonya Church on the afternoon of Feb. 20th. Meeting closed and the ladies of the north group prepared a bounti- ful cafeteria supper in the base- ment, - A good crowd partook of this supper and approximately $60.00 was realized, and a nice social time was enjoyed by all. mrt meme QD Np rn A TIP FROM INDUSTRY 'One authority on factory mainten- ance recommends a thorough washing of all painted surfaces once a year, a 'new paint job on all painted surfaces once every three years, This is also 'a good rule for the home, maré Tile Drainage Maintenance Out of sight, out of mind is often trae of a tile drainage system, with the result that it does not get the maintenance it should, says D. J. Cooper, Agriculture Engineer, Cent- ral Kxpermintal Farm, Ottawa. Periodic inspection is the best in- surance against failures in the sys- tem. Though this involves some work, it is less costly than neglect- 'ing the system until major repairs are necessary. , Inspection during the spring run-off. and - following the heavy rains will generally disclose failures in the system. Blockages in tile lines usually causes washouts or cave-ins, When this occurs the line should be repair- ed at once, lest silting make it nec- essary to relay the line above the blockage. Wet spots remaining in the field for some time afteha heavy rain indicate that the s is not working propey When tree a tile line, the tiles should be dug up and clean- ed out. Where it is not desivable or possible to remove the trees, the field tile within 60 to 7b feet of the trees, should be replaced by bell tile cemented at the joints, Outlets frequently require atten- tion due to faulty construction, They must be properly supported and have free delivery into the discharge ditch, Open ditches are subject to silting and must be cleaned out per- iodically to provide a free delivery from the tile outlet. Screens should be provided on all outlets to keep out rodents, Uxbridge Two Shows Nightly--7.00 and 9.00 Saturdays and Holidays 6.30 & 8.80 Matinee 2.00 p.m. LAST SHOWING TO-DAY Thursday, February 28th "A MILLIONAIRE FOR CHRISTY" STARRING Fred MacMurray and Eleanor Parker Fri. and Sat., Feb. 29 & March 1 "APACHE DRUMS" STARRING Stephen McNally and Coleen Gray 'Mon. and Tues., March 3-4 "THE DESERT FOX" .
